If Finnian decided to leave Liliana and pursue Amara again, she might not be as opposed to it as she was before.
Dorian, who knew Elysia fairly well, suddenly leaned in and whispered, "Maybe I should learn to cook a few of your favorite dishes for you?"
Elysia rolled her eyes. "If you want to poison me, you can just say so. No need to be so indirect."
Dorian: "..."
Finnian ignored the two of them. He personallydled a bowl of pork rib and corn soup, added two pieces of pork, and ced it next to Amara. He then set a porcin spoon on the rim of the bowl and said, "Drink some soup before you eat the spicy food. It''s better for your stomach."
Amara nodded and took a sip of the soup.
Therge bowl hid half her face, concealing her difort.
She was incredibly curious. She had only ever taught Finnian how to make dishes that Mr. Kevin Everly liked. The stir-fried squid and the spicy potato and chicken stir- fry were her favorites. She had never taught him how to make them. How did he know?
Finnian didn''t know what Amara was thinking. He picked out some potatoes and chicken from the spicy stir-fry. Wearing a disposable glove, he wrapped a piece of chicken in potato and held it to Amara''s lips. His action stunned everyone at the table.
That was Amara''s favorite way to eat it, but why was Finnian feeding her in public? It was so awkward. Amara''s face flushed with embarrassment.
"Open up," Finnian said. "I offended you today. This is just my apology. Don''t overthink it."
"
How could anyone not overthink this?
Amara was truly speechless. But if she continued to refuse, it would only get more awkward. She opened her mouth and are the bite, mumbling, "Thank you, Mr. Everly, but can get it myself."
Finnian nodded and didn''t feed her again. Instead, he took a small bowl, scooped
some of the chicken and potatoes into it, and ced it in front of Amara.
Seeing that Dorian and Elysia had
frozen, staring at him and Amara instead of eating, Finnian exined, far from her. She
"That dish is a bit
cant reach it, so I''m giving her some."
Dorian''s lips twitched, but he said nothing. Elysia was also at a loss for words, that strange sixth sense of hers growing stronger. Finnian truly cared for Ama. But why?
Soon, they finished their meal. Dorian and Elysia insisted on clearing the table, so Finnian and Amara went out to the balcony.
Finnian asked her if the food he cooked was good and to her liking. Amara said it was delicious and then asked, "How did you learn to make those dishes? Did you teach yourself?"
Finnian nodded. "Your favorites are
stir-fried squid, stir-fried green beans, spicy potato and chicken stir-fry sweet and sour pork, braised eggnt and mapo teful leamed how to make all of them. I taught myself at home."
Amara fell silent. As Finnian listed the dishes, her heart skipped a beat.
Why would Finnian learn to cook her favorite dishes? Was it to cook for her? But he was about to marry another woman. Why was he doing all this for her?
Finnian looked at the top of Amara''s head, a hint of bitterness in his heart.
During those days, he was constantly thinking of Amara. But no matter how much he missed her, he controlled himself, trying his best not to disturb her life.
If he ever did go to see her, it was only because he had reached his absolute limit and couldn''t bear it any longer.
And every time the longing for Amara became unbearable, he would go into the kitchen and cook in silence.
