Chapter 537

Emma and Liliana also spotted them. Emma saw Amara''s scowl and Keith''s eye- roll, and her anger red.

She quickened her pace and called out, "You two, stop right there!"

Her tone was sharp andmanding, and more importantly, she blocked their path.

Forced to a halt, Amara said coldly, "Is there something you need, Mrs. Emma Everly?"

Emma looked Amara up and down with utter contempt, then turned to Keith. "I really don''t understand. I hear you''re quite a catch. Why would you marry a divorcée?"

At her words, the nearby wedding nners and hotel staff lowered their heads, wishing the ground would swallow them whole.

What terrible timing to overhear such a high-society dispute.

Some might find listening to such gossip interesting, but those who had experienced it knew it was best to know as little as possible.

Amara''s expression darkened. Just as she was about to speak, Keith squeezed her wrist. He then looked at Liliana and said in a cheeky tone, "Why don''t you answer your mother-inw? Why would anyone marry someone who''s been married before?"

His words made Emma''s face change drastically. "What''s that supposed to mean?"

"Exactly what it sounds like. Isn''t Finnian divorced? Our Amara didn''t want him anymore, so she dumped him. That makes him a divorcé, doesn''t it? Am I wrong?"

Keith waved his hands with an innocent look. The surrounding staff members bowed their heads even lower, desperately trying to stifle theirughter. It was excruciating. Emma was about to explode with rage. Her son was the chairman of the Everly Group! And his marriage to Amara was just a formality to bring him luck; it wasn''t a real marriage. How dare Keith say such a thing?

She whirled on Amara, her voice sharp with anger. "Look at the kind of trash you associate with! You''re already a disrespectful person with no regard for your elders, and now you''ve found someone just like you Unbelievable."

Emma could insult her, and she could ignore it by treating her like a madwoman. But

how dare Emma insult the people she cared about?

    Amara immediately stepped

forward. "Are you out of your mind? Do you have schizophrenia? One minute you''re saying Keithas a good catch and the next you''re insulting him. You should really see a neurologist."

Emma was livid and about to retort, but Amara continued, "And what''s this about not respecting our elders? Are you talking about us not respecting you?"

"But have you considered that you don''t act with the dignity of an elder? You expect others to respect you when you behave like that? Do you think people are blind, deaf, and stupid?"

Amara''s tirade stunned everyone around them.

No one had expected the seemingly gentle and elegant Amara to have such a sharp tongue, holding nothing back when she let loose.

But inwardly, everyone agreed with her. Was Mrs. Emma Everly crazy?

She was calling Amara a divorcée, but she failed to consider how that came to be. Wasn''t her own son a divorcé too?

    Emma was furious, her finger

trembling as she pointed at Amara. Before she could say another word Amara grabbed Keith''s arm and whispered, "Let''s go. Don''t waste our time with this crazy woman. With that, she pulled him away and they left.
