Amara had anticipated that Morgan might ask her about this and presented the excuse she had prepared in advance.
"Keith and I started dating a few months ago, but I felt his career as a celebrity was too unstable, so I didn''t want to go public."
"But he gave me a very convincing promise these past couple of days, and I gained the confidence to be with him, so I epted his proposal."
After finishing, Amara said sincerely, "Mr. Bishop, my actions were deceptive, and I am truly sorry."
Amara''s exnation was usible, but for some reason, Morgan still felt something was off.
He gave a self-deprecating smile. "You don''t need to apologize to me. It''s perfectly normal for a woman to want a partner with a stable career. I understand your reasoning. It''s just a shame. I quite liked you."
Amara could indeed sense that Morgan was interested in her. If she had known, she should have refused Mr. Kevin Everly from the start. What happened between her and Morgan was her fault, and she felt genuinely guilty.
Just as she was about to speak, Morgan said, "You don''t need to feel guilty. Liking you was my choice, and you don''t have to be responsible for it. But can we still be friends?"
"Of course," Amara smiled. "Mr. Bishop, you''re an exceptional person. It would be my honor to be your friend."
Morgan stood up and shook her hand, smiling. "Don''t forget to invite me to the wedding. And if Keith ever gives you trouble, you can call me. I''ll go settle the score for you."
Amaraughed and agreed.
After Morgan left the Everly estate, he continued to ponder the situation between Amara and Keith. Something still felt odd. He called his assistant, "I need you to look into something for me..."
Amara and Keith discussed the wedding again and decided to get their marriage license in a few days followed by a small ceremony. The wedding would be an intimate affair, with only close friends and family invited. They wouldn''t invite too many people or any media.
With the n set, it was time to choose a venue.
They searched online and found the Star Hotel in the city center appealing. It had a great location
and was a newly opened five-st
hotel that was reportedly very popr They scheduled a time to
go
check it out.
Large hotels that frequently host weddings often partner with event nningpanies. They made an appointment with an ur house wedding nner and told her they were interested in an outdoor wedding. The nner took them to see the hotel''s back garden.
Since it was winter, the natural grass had withered, and the ground was covered with artificial turf. While itcked the fresh scent of real grass, it was more refined and neat, and looked quite nice.
But just as they were about to make a decision, they saw two exquisitely dressed women walking toward them, arm in arm. It was Emma and Liliana.
Emma was wearing an off-white suit with a fur coat, while Liliana wore a bright red dress with a matching wool coat. They wereughing and talking, holding hands as if they were mother and daughter.
Even though it was a fake marriage, the feeling of getting things settled was quite nice.
Amara had been in a good mood, but the sight of these two immediately soured it. She whispered, "Let''s go."
Keith saw them too and rolled his eyes. "Yeah, let''s go. What bad luck."
