Chapter 527

    "Knock, knock, knock."

She had just closed her eyes when a rather urgent knocking sounded at her door.

The knock clearly wasn''t Finnian''s, but it was almost midnight. Who woulde looking for her at this hour, and why were they knocking so impatiently?

Amara padded to the door in her slippers. Seeing Hogan standing outside, his face etched with anxiety, her own expression soured. “What are you doing here?”

"Amara, you''re getting married?" Hogan asked anxiously. "How can you get married? What about Finnian? Do you have any idea how much he''s suffering?"

Hogan had run into Finnian on his way over. He had been shocked by Finnian''s appearance; he had never seen him look so heartbroken. The sight had made him so anxious that he came straight to find Amara.

Amara stared straight at Hogan. "None of your damn business."

Hogan''s eyes widened. Did he hear that right? The always-gentle Amara just cursed?

Amara had always been a polite person. This was the first time she had ever sworn, but she just couldn''t take it anymore.

Being disturbedte at night was one thing, but Hogan was asking such a foolish question. The fact that she didn''t p him again was a testament to her good temper.

"What about your Finnian? He can go to hell!"

"Are you out of your mind? He''s about to marry Liliana, and you''reing here asking me what he should do? Hogan, you should really get your head checked!"

After her harsh tirade, Amara shot him a fierce re and mmed the door in his face.

Hogan quickly stepped back. That was close; the door had nearly ttened his nose.

He touched his luckily-spared nose, his heart racing with anxiety, but he knew Amara was right.

Finnian was indeed marrying Liliana, and Amara was marrying Keith..... Ugh, what a

    mess.

After kicking Hogan out, Amaray back in bed, still fuming over the incident.

She thought Hogan must be out of his mind, or perhaps just so arrogant that he believed every woman in the world should revolve around Fimian, which was why he would say Something so ridiculous to her.

Amara closed her eyes, telling herself not to bother with an arrogant fool. She forced

the incident from her mind and tried to sleep.

At eleven the next morning, Keith came to pick her up.

An hour earlier, she had called Larry and told him she was bringing her boyfriend over.

Larry had agreed. She immediately told Keith, who said it was no problem. He just needed to prepare some gifts for "meeting the father-inw" and would thene get her.

Soon they were in the car, and about twenty minutester, they arrived at the Sullivan family home.

Keith got out first, walked around to the other side to open Amara''s door, and then went to the trunk to get the gifts.

Although he detested the scumbag Larry, he was still his future

father-inw. This was his first visit

in his capacity as a future son-inw, so Keith had carefully

prepared many gifts, each one expensive. It made even Amara feel a little pained to see them.

They carried the gifts into the vi and saw Larry standing by the sofa, looking at them. Amara first called out, "Dad," then said, "This is my boyfriend, Keith. You probably know him."

Keith immediately set down the gifts, gave Larry a slight bow, and said,

"Mr. Sullivan, hello. Do you remember me? When we were kids, both our families lived in the Green Hills neighborhood. We were even next-door neighbors. I used toe over to your house to y with Amara all the time."
