Chapter 68

I found what Zion said amusing.

"If you could handle it, Andy wouldn''t havee to the hospital looking for Selena."

"Besides, I''ve looked into your background. You''ve only been involved in the management of thepany for two or three years. With this limited experience, there are many things you have no idea how to solve."

Ever since Zion forced me to stay, I secretly paid someone to look into what he and Selena had been doingtely. Although the timeframe was short, I still managed to find some clues.

Hearing my words, Zion looked surprised, but more so, he looked suspicious.

He probably didn''t believe me at all.

Despite being angry at what I said, Zion couldn''t deny them because they were true.

"That''s my business, not yours. As long as thepany doesn''t copse, it''s fine."

    His dismissive response infuriated me.

Selena had worked hard for over three years to gain control of thepany. Despite everyone''s doubts, she rose step by step to be the current CEO. Yet Zion''s only goal was to prevent thepany from falling apart.

Was it because it was Selena''spany and not his, so he didn''t care much about it?

Thinking of this made my anger re.

"My girlfriend has already decided toe to work in Adenville, and now Selena''spany is in trouble."

I was fuming as I thought of what had transpiredtely, but I held back my frustration and suppressed the urge to shout.

"It hase to this, and you still won''t let me go. What are you thinking? Do you really care about Selena, or are you just pretending?"

If Zion was standing in front of me, I would have punched him, just to let him know how angry I was.

On the other end of the line, Zion seemed to not care, sneering at my anger.

"Hudson, do you think I want to keep you here? I don''t like how you use Selena''s affection for you to threaten me."

He added, "If I could, I would buy you a ne ticket and send you back to Carzonia right now. But Selena''s condition hasn''t improved. What should I do if she rpses after you leave?"

"If you push Selena to go to work and the board of directors finds out she is sick, do you know what kind of consequences that would have?"

Of course, I knew the consequences. If the board of directors found out that Selena was sick, they would surely think she wasn''t fit to lead thepany and vote her out.

At that point, even Selena herself couldn''t use her power to do anything, as thepany wasn''t solely owned by the Norman family. No one would want someone unfit to run thepany and hurt everyone''s interests.

Thinking of this, I frowned, took a deep breath, and tried to calm myself.

"I have my own way of doing things. I know how to handle this. You don''t need to worry that I''ll do anything reckless. You''re not the only one worried about Selena. I understand the importance of thispany better than you and am more capable of managing it."

I nced at the phone. It had already been half an hour since we were on this call.
