Selena''s attitude toward Zion had always been inconsistent. Sometimes, she
treated Zion like a servant, taking out her frustrations on him and not showing any sign of affection for him.
Zion took a deep breath and gave a cold look. "What do you know?"
He sounded defensive, then added, "Selena''s sick right now. She only needs you temporarily. Once she''s better, I know she''ll realize that I''m the one who truly cares for her."
Honestly, I didn''t care who Selena liked, as long as it wasn''t me.
But the main issue now was figuring out a way to get Sylvia out of the picture.
"Zion, can you do me a favor? Can you check how many days of leave Sylvia took toe here?"
Without a word, he picked up his phone and made the call.
Meanwhile, I messaged my assistant to get some information on Sylvia''s situation.
"Mr. Dawson, Sylvia has been transferred to Adenville. Starting next month, she''ll be appointed as a director at the main office."
I stared at the message, my eyes widening in disbelief.
So Sylvia was moving to Adenville for work? Why hadn''t she mentioned any of this since she arrived, not even at the train station? Was she nning some other "surprise" for me?
I waspletely in the dark. I saw Zion hang up, looking at me angrily as he asked, "Hudson, is your girlfriend here to cause trouble? What''s the point of leaving her position in Carzonia just to work here in Adenville?"
Hisment made my head spin.
I recalled Sylvia''s words at the station. "I''m back in Adenville again." Now, I finally understood what she meant.
Zion also scratched his head, being frustrated at what he had heard.
Indeed. Sylvia wasn''t here just to visit me. It was a permanent move for her. It had be much more difficult to solve this issue now.
After a pause, Zion turned to me with a seething look.
"If the enemy doesn''t move, we don''t move. You better go next door and ask her directly what her true intentions are."
I looked at Zion, agreeing with him.
I checked my phone for the time. It was already 10:00 pm. I called Sylvia a few times, but she didn''t pick up. I was left with no choice but to head over to her room.
I knocked for a while but she didn''t respond. Just as I was about to ask the front desk for help, the door creaked open, and Sylvia poked her head out.
When she saw it was me, she rxed and let out a sigh of relief.
"Oh, Hudson, it''s you! I thought it was someone up to no good, knocking at this hour."
She seemed nervous, ncing around to make sure I was alone before reluctantly opening the door and inviting me in.
"It''s sote. What are you doing here?" Her hair was damp, like she had just finished showering. That might exin why she hadn''t answered her phone.
"I just got off work. I missed you. Can''t I stop by to see you?"
I took a look around. The room was simr to mine. Her clothes andptop were scattered across the bed. Theptop screen was still on. She was working on some documents.
She noticed my gaze and frowned slightly. Then she shut theptop.
I didn''t understand her reaction. I thought it was quite odd, but I didn''t dwell on it. I
met her eyes and got straight to the point.
"I heard you''ve been transferred to Adenville. Sylvia, is that true?"
