Chapter 3142

    ?Chapter 3142:

It was far more tangled than Linda’s, which meant Cristian would be tied up with it for some time.

Yet today, something else demanded his attention, so he set the files aside.

After the trial, he went to visit Linda.

Following the verdict, she had been transferred straight to White Lake Prison.

    Cristian entered the visitation room.

    “Linda.”

    ??n????????? ????????n??e о?? ????l?????e???.??????

She sat slumped at the table, her illness draining the color from her face. “Cristian? You came to see me?”

“Yes.” He nodded once. “Mr. Flynn sent me.”

The moment Ernest’s name reached her, her expression brightened. “Ernest? He sent you? Then does that mean…” She pointed toward the door in a burst of hope. “Am I getting out? Medical parole? Is that why you’re here?”

Even with her sentence, her condition made her eligible for a hospital stay under guard if someone intervened.

Being treated in a hospital, even under watch, was far better than remaining here.

Yet she had no one willing to arrange it.

She relied on oral medication now, but when the pain surged, it barely helped her stay conscious.

Seeing Cristian walk in, hope red in her eyes. He was capable, and to her, that meant rescue.

“Ernest still cares for me, right?” Linda whispered, her smile trembling as tears gathered. “Cristian, he sent you here to help me. This is good news. I can finally leave this hellhole.”

Cristian did not answer at once.

    She was grasping at illusions.

He was the one who proved her crimes in court. How could she imagine he would intervene on her behalf now?

“I’m sorry.” He shook his head. “If you need treatment, file an application and the prison staff will arrange it.”

“What?” Linda froze. “You’re not here to help me? Then whye?”

Cristian didn’t exin. He took out his phone instead, unlocked the screen, and set it on the table between them. “Look at this.”

    Confused, Linda lowered her gaze.

Dozens of photos filled the screen.

The moment she recognized the faces in them, her pupils widened, her breath caught, and her entire body tensed.

    It was Elissa.

    It was Elissa and Ernest.

They were holding each other; she was smiling at him, and he was looking back at her with the same warmth.

“What is this?” Linda jerked her head up, her voice sharp, as if she had seen something impossible. “Photoshopped?”
