?Chapter 3107:
“No.” Ernest shook his head, stubborn to his very core. “If I leave, I leave with you! Without you… where could I even go?”
At his words, Elissa’s sobs broke softly against his back, fragile and heart-wrenching.
A sharp, piercing rm shrieked through the air, making Ernest flinch, his brow tightening in reflexive tension.
One by one, more lights zed to life, casting harsh illumination across the path ahead.

The synchronized sound of footsteps drew closer, echoing from every corner of the vineyard.
Ernest let out a dry, bitterugh. Still carrying Elissa, he forced a hollow smile. “Elissa… we can’t escape.”
He pictured it in his mind—if this opportunity slipped away, even seeing her again would be nearly impossible.
It could have worked.
If only Elissa had listened, if only they hadn’t stopped earlier—they would already be racing toward the airport.
But how could he me her?
In an instant, guards poured in from every direction, encircling them like predators closing in on prey.
Then, a spine-chillingugh cut through the chaos, and the crowd parted. Savannah stepped forward, every step deliberate andmanding.
Her eyes hardened the moment they fell on Elissa clinging to Ernest. “Put my daughter down.”
Without saying a word, Ernest nodded silently. He had no choice now.
He lowered Elissa carefully, yet his arms lingered around her, unwilling to let gopletely.
“Elissa.” His voice softened, but his eyes betrayed confusion. “Why? Why won’t youe with me?”
Was it that she couldn’t bear to leave Savannah behind?
Instinct told him otherwise.
Elissa’s gaze flicked between him and Savannah, lost, uncertain, as if searching for the right path but finding none.
“What do you think?” Savannah’s words sliced through the air like steel. “Ernest Flynn, wake up to reality—you’re not going anywhere with my daughter!”
“I know,” Ernest confessed, the burden of reality pressing down on him. “But I have to understand… Elissa, we could have gone together.” He asked aloud, almost pleading, “Don’t you trust me to protect you?”
Elissa’s lips parted, but no words came. Only tears rimmed with red glistened in silent agony.
Ernest shook his head, prehension dawning. “It’s not that you don’t trust me.” His voice softened further. “Then what is it? What’s the real reason?”
Deep inside, he felt this truth mattered more than anything—it held Elissa back even though she obviously cared for him.
“That’s none of your concern!” Before Elissa could speak, Savannah cut her off sharply. “The only thing you need to know is this—you were caught because Elissa never intended to go with you in the first ce!”
“What…” Ernest froze, his mind reeling, disoriented and unsteady. “What are you saying?”
“What am I saying?” Savannah’s eyes darted coldly to her daughter. “Elissa told me you’d try to take her in theing days.”
A short, icyugh escaped her. “Your tech team is impressive, I’ll give you that—slipping into the property as if it were nothing.”
After all, the Brown family’s security was world-ss.
“Luckily, we were warned. Otherwise, you might have seeded.”
Yet he had still managed to infiltrate before they noticed.
Ernest’s mind was a storm of thoughts, buzzing so loudly he barely registered Savannah’s next words.
