?Chapter 3101:
“Could it be…” Ernest began to suspect Savannah had never sent Elissa away in the first ce. “What if Elissa is still inside the manor?”
“What?” The bodyguard straightened, stunned.
It wasn’t impossible.
They had only witnessed Savannah and Elissa leaving. No one knew what happened after. And sometimes, the safest hiding ce was the one no one questioned.
If that were the case, then Savannah had outmaneuvered them with startling precision.
She might be sharp, but Ernest wasn’t easy to mislead either.

“Sir, what should we do now?”
“Give me a moment.” Ernest pressed his fingers to his brow.
ording to Savannah’s n, he would be scouring every corner of Ontmond in a frantic search for Elissa. Otherwise, it would not resemble him at all.
So the search had to continue.
“Tell them to keep looking,” he said. “Whether they find her or not, the search must go on.”
“Yes, sir.”
“And one more thing…” Ernest added quietly. “In a few days, I will leave Ontmond.”
“Leave?” The bodyguard looked confused. “Are you really going?”
“Yes.” Ernest nodded. “Savannah needs to believe I’m gone.” He couldn’t allow her to suspect anything.
He intended to speak with his brother about the next steps.
“You can go now. I’ll reach out again.”
“Yes, sir.”
When the bodyguard left, Ernest picked up his phone and called Eric.
“Ernest?” Eric’s voice came through as he massaged Hadley’s back. Hadley had answered the call and put it on speaker for him. “It’ste here. What’s wrong?”
“Are you a fool?” Ernest sighed. “It’s daytime here.”
“Oh. Right.” Even while being scolded, Ericughed. “I’ll admit it—I’m not as sharp as you.”
“Enough nonsense,” Hadley muttered. “Speak properly.” She shifted and asked, “Ernest, how is everything? Are youing back with Elissa?”
“Coming back?” Ernest let out a weary breath. “It’s not that simple.”
Eric and Hadley exchanged a look and set their smiles aside.
“Tell us what you need,” Eric said.
“Good.” Ernest lowered his voice. “Spread word that the Flynn Group is facing trouble, and…” He then gave a few more instructions.
“Understood,” Eric replied without hesitation. “Consider it done.”
After the call ended, Eric nced at Hadley and shrugged.
“Doesn’t sound like things are going well.”
“s.” Hadley sighed softly. “I just hope they return soon.”
Eric knew what she meant.
Hadley wanted Elissa to be there for their wedding.
But with things as they were, it felt unlikely.
“Don’t give up yet.” Eric eased the tension in her back. “Once this mess settles, Ernest and Elissa might still find their way.”
She wanted to believe him, yet doubt lingered. The thought stayed with her as she quietly hoped it could somehow be true.
Two days passed.
When Neville came home from work, he carried news Savannah had not expected to hear.
“Ernest went back to Srixby?” Savannah froze, unable to grasp it at first.
“It’s true.” Neville nodded. “There’s trouble with the Flynn Group. His brother is handling some of it, but Ernest still needs to show up as CEO.”
He had looked into it himself for her sake.
“He left on his private jet.”
“Really?” Savannah blinked, startled. So Ernest had truly left.
“And his men?”
“They’re still searching,” Neville replied. “They’ve nearlybed through the whole city. If this continues, they’ll end up expanding the search outside Ontmond.”
He nced at his wife and whispered, “He is truly spending everything he has to find her.”
Ernest’s efforts to find Elissa had been steady and unrelenting.
“Humph.” Savannah scoffed. “Anyone with money could do that. What’s so impressive about it?”
“Yes.” Neville agreed gently. “Money helps. But choosing to exhaust every resource for one person—that’s different.”
Hearing this, Savannah shot him a sharp re.
