Chapter 3093

    ?Chapter 3093:

“Mrs. Brown,” Ernest said, adjusting his sses as his voice came out low and rough. “I found out about Elissa’s condition.”

Savannah paused in surprise. He knew? That made no sense to her.

Ernest chose not to soften anything. “I managed to get her medical files.”

“Excuse me?” Savannah went stiff, the color draining from her face as her hands gripped her knees. She narrowed her eyes and hissed, “You really dared to do that.”

She had expected Ernest to be persistent, and she knew he would dig until he found the truth about Elissa.

    ????а?? ??????????????e ???? r??????????g ???? ??a??????????????.со??

She let out a cold scoff. “Tell me what difference that makes.”

“Mrs. Brown.” Ernest removed his sses and wiped away the tiny droplets with a tissue. He moved slowly. His tone stayed even. “Elissa is ill. I hope you understand that you won’t be able to be there and care for her for the rest of her life.”

Birth, aging, and death wait for all people, and Savannah was no exception.

“If Elissa never improves and you refuse to let her go, she’ll end up depending on you alone here in Ontmond.”

Ernest ced his sses back on. A brief look of frustration flickered in his eyes.

“You can manage her care today. But what will happen a decade from now? Or two decades?” He let out a weary breath. “When those years pass, you’ll be growing old as well.”

The thought sounded cruel, yet it held nothing but truth.

“Can you honestly say you’ll still have the strength to look after Elissa by then?”

“Ernest Flynn, you…” Savannah’s face burned with anger, then the color drained just as quickly.

She had wrestled with the same questions before. Even so, she could not bring herself to hand Elissa over to him.

“You can stop worrying! Her stepfather treats her as if she were his own child! I’m not the only one she can turn to. She has a brother who cares for her as well!”

“Her stepfather?” Ernest gave a steady nod. “Yes. Mr. Brown appears devoted for now. Although his concern for Elissaes from how much he cares for you. Forgive me for being direct, but if something ever happened to you, his feelings toward Elissa might change.”

    “You!”

“And her brother…” Ernest gave a faint, tired smile as he spoke. “They might be close as children, but children grow up. Once he grows older, he’ll chase after his own future—his wife, his children, his own family. He may still love and care for Elissa, but he will never watch over her with the same devotion you have.”

Each remarknded with controlled force, and none of them could be dismissed.

“With everything so uncertain, you still choose to keep Elissa close?”

“What are you getting at?” Savannah red at the well-mannered man in front of her. “If I’m not fit to care for her, you believe you are?”

“Yes.” Ernest answered without a second thought.

Savannah let out a coldugh. “That’s ridiculous!” Her expression hardened. Anger burned deep in her eyes. “You caused this! Elissa wouldn’t be suffering if it weren’t for you!”

“I ept that… there were reasons behind what happened.”

“That’s enough!” Savannah snapped before he could continue.

“Alright!” Savannah gave a sharp nod. “If we follow your logic, every trail still leads back to you!”

Looking back on those days, how could she not hate him?

She drew in a steady breath and bit down hard. “Tell me how you can guarantee it will never happen again.”
