Chapter 3038

    ?Chapter 3038:

    “Alright.”

As they spoke, the bathroom door clicked open, and Elissa stepped out, fresh and radiant.

Husband and wife shared a knowing nce—silently agreeing to drop the subject—and both greeted her with gentle smiles.

Neville rose at once, pulling out a chair. “Come, sweetheart, sit down.”

“There you go,” Savannah said warmly as she poured milk into her daughter’s cup—Elissa’s stomach was delicate, and she could only toleratettes instead of ck coffee. “The bacon’s perfect today—crispy, just the way you like it,” Savannah noted, trying to sound cheerful.

“Thank you, Dad. Thank you, Mom.” Elissa seated herself gracefully, every gesture refined and polite.

Yet both Savannah and Neville noticed—Elissa’s spirits were higher today, her face glowing with subtle joy.

After breakfast, the family of three drove to the golf course together.

As soon as the car stopped, Savannah’s eyes caught sight of Ernest. She threw Neville a meaningful nce.

“Stay with Elissa for now,” she murmured.

“Alright.” Neville understood immediately and didn’t interfere. “I’ll keep an eye on her.”

Once Neville and Elissa moved ahead, Savannah quickened her pace and intercepted Ernest.

    “Ernest!”

“Mrs. Brown.” Ernest greeted her, straightening with polite restraint.

“I’ll be brief,” Savannah said, ncing around uneasily. It wasn’t the best ce for a confrontation, but there was no avoiding it.

“I know you’ve been seeing Elissa behind my back,” she said coldly. “This ends now, Ernest. Consider this your only warning.”

    Ernest froze.

    She knew? How?

She must have meant that evening on the terrace.

But there had been nothing improper—nothing to hide.

“Mrs. Brown, you know how I feel. I truly care for Elissa,” he said quietly.

Savannah’s lips curved into a mirthless smile. She found his words absurd.

“So sure of yourself,” she said sharply. “Then tell me—do you have the courage to tell her why she ended up like this?”

“Mrs. Brown…” Ernest began, uneasy. He wanted desperately to ask more—to know what truly ailed Elissa. But Savannah cut him off before he could.

“Tell me,” she demanded, eyes zing. “If she knew you caused her suffering, do you think she’d still look at you the same way?”

Ernest fell silent, the usation striking him dumb.

If Elissa ever learned the truth, everything would change. She’d already been determined to leave him before the tragedy—what then?

“Mrs. Brown,” he said, voice low, eyes shadowed. “Maybe… this is fate. Maybe we’re meant to find our way back to each other.”

“Don’t be absurd!” Savannah snapped. Her anger red, her voice slicing through the air.

“This is all your fault!” she cried, pointing at him. “You destroyed her life—and you dare talk about destiny?”

Every word dripped with fury and grief.

“Mrs. Brown.” Ernest’s voice faltered, a cold dread washing over him. “Please—what’s really wrong with her? It’s not just amnesia, is it? How serious is it?”

Savannah hesitated, lips trembling, but no words came.

“You don’t need to know!” she snapped finally.

“If you have even a shred of conscience left,” she said coldly, “stay away from her. Let her live in peace.”

With that, she turned sharply and walked away.

“Mrs. Brown!” Ernest called after her.

But she didn’t look back, leaving Ernest frowning, his mind a tangle of unanswered questions.

Savannah walked briskly toward the locker room, scanning for her daughter.

Elissa was already dressed, standing beside Neville, who was deep in conversation.

As Savannah drew closer, her brows lifted—it was Emma he was speaking to.

    “Emma?”

“Mrs. Brown.” Emma greeted her politely.

“Good morning, Emma,” Savannah said, masking her unease.

“Good morning. It’s a beautiful day, isn’t it?” Emma replied with a bright smile.

Savannah’s gaze drifted from Emma to Elissa, and a weight settled deeper in her chest.
