Chapter 3027

    ?Chapter 3027:

Still, word of his presence managed to reach Wird.

“Mr. Flynn, are you here on vacation?” Wird asked with interest. “If so, you’vee at the right time. We’re holding a celebration at Mledo the day after tomorrow. You should join us for some rest and goodpany. It’s my father’s nieth birthday, and the gathering will be grand.”

Ernest paused, considering the offer, then gave a small nod. “In that case, I’d be honored to attend.”

Mledo was famous for its hot spring resorts, yet a spa didn’t really interest Ernest. However, declining a personal invitation to such an asion felt discourteous. Courtesy, more than curiosity, guided his eptance.

“That’s wonderful, Mr. Flynn! Then it’s settled,” said Wird, his tone brimming with excitement as he handed over an embossed invitation.

“Alright,” Ernest replied with a courteous nod.

The day after tomorrow was Wird’s father’s birthday, but the invitation showed a date one day earlier. Clearly, it was a two-day party.

By the following afternoon, Ernest had chosen a suitable gift and departed, nning only a short visit to offer his regards before slipping away quietly.

When he arrived, the Carrillo family was already waiting by the entrance, their smiles wide and weing.

“Mr. Flynn! We’re delighted to have you!”

Ernest exchanged a few polite words, recognizing several familiar faces among them.

He had dealt with the Carrillo family on more than one asion, so the warmth of their reception came as no surprise.

“Mr. Flynn,” said Wird, motioning toward a young woman at Ernest’s side, “allow me to introduce my daughter, Emma.”

Emma Carrillo stepped forward with an easy grace, extending her hand.

He took her slender fingers gently, bowed slightly, then released her hand with practiced courtesy.

“Mr. Flynn,” said Emma, her light blue eyes locked on Ernest, “I’m delighted to meet you.”

Ernest was caught off guard when Emma greeted him in his ownnguage. Her ent carried a trace of effort, yet her fluency was admirable.

“Miss Carrillo, your pronunciation is impressive,” Ernest said with a courteous smile.

Wirdughed heartily. “Not bad, eh? Mr. Flynn, do you recall I once mentioned—” He broke off and turned to his daughter. “Emma studied at a university in your country.”

After a brief pause to remember, he added, “Which city was it again, Emma?”

“Tidebourne,” Emma answered, her smile brightening as she looked at Ernest. “Mr. Flynn, Tidebourne is right next to Srixby, where you live.”

“That’s right,” Ernest confirmed with a small nod.

Tidebourne was indeed close to Srixby.

Emma said with a wistful tone, “I’ve been to Srixby a few times—what a shame our paths never crossed!”

Wird caught the look on his daughter’s face and gave a knowing smile.

“Well, you’ve met him now. He’s our honored guest, Emma. Since you speak hisnguage, make sure you look after Mr. Flynn properly.”

“Of course,” Emma replied with a cheerful nod. “You can count on me, Father.”

Emma gave a graceful curtsy. “Mr. Flynn, should you need anything, please don’t hesitate to tell me.”

Ernest inclined his head politely. “Thank you. I appreciate your thoughtfulness.”
