Chapter 3023

    ?Chapter 3023:

After a second, he reminded himself it wasn’t unexpected. From the start, Savannah had sent Elissa to the manor to keep her away from him.

Now that he had discovered their whereabouts, there was no longer any reason for her to stay hidden.

Still, the news made seeing Elissa far more difficult than before.

The memory of Robin freely entering the estate, coupled with Elissa calling that man’s name, stirred something sharp inside him.

Silently, Ernest turned back toward the IV stand, choosing to resume the drip without another word.

Elissa settled into a quiet vi on the edge of the city, a ce that carried the elegance of an old manor.

From the moment they arrived, Savannah wasted no time overseeing the servants as they arranged furniture and carefully prepared Elissa’s room.

“We used to live here when you were still in high school,” Savannah said with a fond smile, her hand wrapping gently around Elissa’s. “You always loved the vineyard behind the hill.”

Elissa listened in silence, a faint smile touching her lips as old memories stirred.

As dusk fell, Neville returned home with his teenage son, William Brown.

William, Savannah and Neville’s child, was now fifteen, ten years younger than Elissa.

The boy had grown into a striking young man, tall and full of life, his features giving him a naturally charming look.

“Elissa!” William called the moment he saw her, his voice bright with excitement.

Before Elissa left Ontmond, the two had always shared a close bond.

The tall youth swept her into a hug. “I’m really d you’re back!”

Unsure how to react to such open affection, Elissa froze for a moment, uncertain and shy beneath his cheerful energy.

Seeing her tense, Neville stepped forward at once. “William, take it easy. You’ll frighten your sister.”

“What?” William blinked in confusion, realizing toote what he’d done. “Elissa, did I scare you?”

Before she could even answer, he spoke again, his tone earnest. “I’m sorry then. I promise I’ll be gentle next time.”

Elissa felt the warmth behind his gesture, although it took her a moment to find her words. “No, it’s alright. You didn’t scare me. You’re wonderful, William.”

“Really?” William said, grinning from ear to ear. “Dad, Mom, she likes me!”

“That’s good to hear. Just remember to look after her.”

Watching the two of them together eased Savannah’s heart, though tears shimmered in her eyes despite herself.

Neville reached for her hand quietly. “Give it time,” he muttered. “Everything will fall into ce.”

Fingers intertwined with his wife’s, Neville spoke with quiet resolve. “Starting tomorrow, we’ll exercise together. Let’s do our best to stay healthy. Every extra day we have is one more day we can look after Elissa.”

His gaze shifted toward the two children. “And when we’re gone someday, William will be there for her.”

“Of course,” Savannah replied with a gentle smile and a nod.

Then, as a thought struck her, her expression changed slightly. “I’ve been so preupied these past few days that I forgot to take Elissa to her checkup. I should schedule an appointment for tomorrow.”

Reaching for the phone beside her, she began dialing. “Hello…”
