?Chapter 3021:
Elissa came to find him?
A tightness formed in Ernest’s throat as he finally managed to speak, his voice low and rough. “Why are you looking for me?”
Didn’t she already see Robin?
When Elissa noticed the hardness in his expression, she hesitated and asked gently, “Are you… mad?”
The question caught Ernest off guard. So, she could tell something was wrong.
“I’m sorry.”
Her lips pressed together as Elissa apologized, though the reason behind it was unclear even to her.

Was this visit just to say that?
“Then tell me,” Ernest said quietly, a faint spark of hope surfacing in his chest. “What exactly are you apologizing for?”
Elissa’s words faltered before they even formed.
How was she supposed to answer that when she didn’t understand it herself?
Letting out a weary sigh, Ernest leaned back slightly.
A dull ache pulsed behind his temples, and his throat felt raw, as though something he couldn’t name was stuck there, refusing to let him breathe.
The chill fromst night’s storm had clung to him, leaving a faint shiver in his bones.
Even after taking the medicine, the ache in his body refused to ease, and a trip to the hospital now seemed unavoidable.
His gaze shifted toward her, dark and unreadable. “You don’t seem to have anything to say. I’m leaving then.”
Without waiting for a reply, he turned toward the door.
Startled, Elissa thought he was upset and trying to walk away from her.
Before she could think twice, she hurried after him and caught his arm.
“Robin!” she called out impulsively.
The sound of that name made Ernest stop cold. Slowly, he looked down at her, his eyes shadowed with emotion she couldn’t quite understand.
Elissa stared back, unsure what his silence meant.
A bitter smile flickered across his face as his brows tightened.
His eyes dropped to her hand clinging to his sleeve. “Let go!”
He didn’t dare pull away too harshly, afraid the force might hurt her.
Her breath hitched as his sternness sank in, and her eyes glistened with unshed tears.
Anger and hurt tangled in her chest as she shouted, “You’re mean!”
When he didn’t respond, she said again, louder this time, “You’re mean!”
Letting go of his arm, she brushed her tears away with the back of her hand and turned to flee.
The sudden movement caught Ernest off guard. He reached out instinctively but only managed to grasp empty air.
“Elissa!”
Before he could run after her, the caregiver appeared from the doorway, carrying a folded shawl.
“Miss Brown!”
Caught in the moment, Ernest stopped in his tracks, pressing his fingers to his temple as frustration clouded his face.
Later that afternoon, sunlight streamed gently through the wide windows of the sunroom.
Seated beside Elissa, Savannah watched her quietly before speaking.
