Chapter 3010

    ?Chapter 3010:

For a split second, the entire world seemed to stop breathing. Sound and color melted into nothingness as Ernest’s eyes found Elissa.

She was all he could see, all he could hear. His gaze swept over her, drinking in every detail, desperate to make sure she was real and not a cruel trick of his mind.

Relief washed through him when he realized she truly stood before him.

Ernest’s hand tightened instinctively, crushing the cigarette until its ember died, then flicking it away without a thought.

Without another moment’s hesitation, he strode toward her.

By the doorway, Robin cast a lingering nce at Elissa. His eyes carried words he didn’t dare speak, yet when he finally did, his tone was filled with weary surrender. “I’ll be heading off now, Mrs. Brown.”

“Okay.” Savannah’s smile faltered, heavy with sorrow. “Thank you for everything you’ve done.”

“It’s really nothing.” Robin gave a small shake of his head, guilt flickering in his expression. “I wish I could’ve done more.”

For a brief moment, they shared a look and breathed out the same quiet sigh.

Turning toward her daughter, Savannah took Elissa’s hand in hers, rubbing it gently. “Elissa, Robin’s about to leave. Do you want to say something to him before he goes?”

Elissa stared for a moment, unsure, then gave a small shake of her head.

The sight of their disappointment made her chest tighten.

“Well…” Elissa bit down on her lip, her cheeks puffing as if summoning courage from the air itself. Her gaze lifted to Robin, and she gave a tiny wave. “Goodbye.”

“Alright then.” Robin’s smile was faint, but kind. “I’ll get going. Take care, goodbye.”

He gave Savannah a polite nod. “Mrs. Brown, I’ll be staying in Ontmond for a bit. I’ll stop by again tomorrow.”

“Thank you.” Savannah’s smile held quiet warmth. “Have a safe trip.”

Echoing her mother’s words, Elissa looked up at Robin and said gently, “Have a safe trip.”

The simple phrase reached Ernest just as he was approaching them.

A sharp chill ran across his scalp, his chest tightening before a wave of emotion broke loose inside him.

“Elissa!” Ernest’s voice tore through the air, raw with anger and desperation, as he hurried toward her.

“Ah!” Elissa flinched, fear shing across her face as she darted behind Savannah for protection.

She was hiding from him? Had he truly be someone she feared?

“Elissa!” Ernest shouted again, his voice trembling between pain and disbelief.

His eyes zed as he jabbed a finger in Robin’s direction. “So you’re afraid of me now? Yet you’ll stand there and talk to him?”

A bitterugh escaped him as he lifted his chin, voice cracking with hurt. “Fine! I’ll admit it—I was a jerk! But tell me, Elissa, did I every a hand on you when we were together? Have you forgotten every good thing and kept only the worst of me?”
