?Chapter 2993:
They had rushed off so quickly that she never got the chance to let Joy know, though. Would she cry when she woke up and couldn’t find her mommy?
“Don’t worry about Joy.” Eric seemed to catch her unspoken worry and spoke gently. “Grandma already knows we’re gone. She’ll handle everything back home.”
“You told her?” Hadley’s eyes widened in disbelief. “When did that happen?”
She could barely remember having time to pack, let alone make calls.
“I asked Xander to let her know,” Eric said casually before nodding toward the window. “Take a look out there.”
Hadley’s curiosity overpowered her questions. Turning her head, she caught sight of the glittering sea, where white yachts floatedzily across the water.
“I managed to reserve one. We’ll head out to the seater today.”

“That sounds wonderful.”
When they reached the hotel, a private butler stood waiting by the entrance.
His voice carried a faint but distinct ent. “Mr. Scott, Mrs. Scott, wee. Please step inside.”
They had secured the entire top-floor suite, plete with a terrace garden and a private pool.
Their belongings had arrived earlier, and the butler had taken care of all the arrangements.
By then, the morning light had just begun to brighten the sky.
Once everything had been set in ce, the butler turned to them with a courteous smile. “Mr. Scott, Mrs. Scott, shall I have breakfast brought up to your suite?”
Instead of replying right away, Eric shifted his gaze toward Hadley, silently giving her the choice.
“Yes, please,” Hadley answered with a pleasant smile. “That sounds perfect.”
“Very good, Mrs. Scott. I’ll see to it at once. Please take a moment to rx.”
With that, the butler quietly left the room.
As soon as the door clicked shut, Eric pulled Hadley close and guided her toward the couch. “Feeling worn out? You could rest for a bit if you want.”
“Rest again?” Hadley gave a quick shake of her head, her lips curving into a sly grin. “I think I’ve had more than enough. Any longer, and my back might protest.”
“That ache of yours has nothing to do with too much rest, you know,” Eric muttered, his tone yful as his fingers brushed against her waist. A teasing smile tugged at his lips. “I’d say I’m the one to me for that.”
“You’re impossible!” Hadley’s eyes went wide before she huffed in mock offense and gave him a light shove.
“Don’t be mad,” Eric whispered with augh, wrapping an arm around her shoulders. “I’ll make it up to you with a massage.”
His voice softened as he added, “If you’re still full of energy, why don’t we take a walk after breakfast?”
“Where are we going?” Hadley asked, her curiosity sparking to life as her earlier teasing melted away.
Deep down, she knew he was right—he really was to me.
“There’s a festival in Sageley today. How about we join in?”
“Of course!” Hadley’s face lit up instantly. A local festival was definitely the perfect way to kick off the trip.
Once they’d finished breakfast, the sound of the doorbell echoed through the suite. The butler appeared again, this time introducing a local guide who would apany them.
Soon after, the couple stepped outside, nked by four bodyguards from the Scott family.
