Chapter 2973

    ?Chapter 2973:

“Yeah, you’ve got the symptoms.” Frida gave a slow nod. “All the signs match the diagnosis. The test results back it up.”

“How is this even possible?” Louise shook her head, stunned. “My daughter’s just in her twenties—how could she have ovarian failure? That can’t be true!”

“Anyone can get sick, no matter how old or young they are.” Frida let out a weary sigh. “I’ve had so many young patients—some even younger than your daughter—dealing with worse.”

Louise looked at Frida, pletely stunned. For a moment, she closed her eyes.

“Mom?” Colleen’s voice shook as she looked at her mother.

“Dr. Ramsey…” Louise opened her eyes and took a shaky breath. “Is there any chance for treatment? She’s still so young. If there’s really nothing you can do… If she was unable to have her own kids…”

Louise left her words hanging, but everyone knew what she meant.

“Well…” Frida let her exhaustion show as she studied Colleen. “Dr. Hayes, you’re a doctor yourself too, so I won’t beat around the bush.”

Colleen gave a quick nod and said, “Yes, please go on.”

“To tell you the truth.” Frida faced Louise and said, “Mrs. Hayes, given Dr. Hayes’ condition, the chances aren’t looking good.”

She added, “Still, when ites to early ovarian failure, infertility is only part of it. We also need to think about the other health problems thate with it.”

A woman’s health depended greatly on her ovaries.

“It’s as if she’s withering, the way a flower does without rain.”

Louise had heard enough; she couldn’t stand another word.

She pressed her hands over her eyes, stunned and hurting.

Hadley snuck a quick look at Jorge when no one was watching.

Jorge remained silent the entire time. What was his take on this?

Out of nowhere, a knock echoed at the door of the consultation room.

Peering inside, a nurse spoke up. “Dr. Ramsey, there’s a crowd waiting, and the patients are getting restless. So…”

“Dr. Ramsey,” Colleen cut in before Frida could reply. “Thank you so much. Please carry on with your work—I’ll be leaving now.”

“Okay.” Frida offered a small, encouraging smile. “Head home and try to get some real rest. When you’re feeling up to it,e back—we can sit down and go over everything together, piece by piece.”

“Thank you. That means a lot.”

Without a word, Hadley slipped from her chair and moved to help Colleen settle into her wheelchair, handling the task with gentle care.

No one said a word as they left the consultation room; the silence carried more weight than any sentence could.
