?Chapter 2968:
“It’s…” With a shaky voice, Colleen whispered, “I’m not sure. Still need more tests before we know anything. I just called to find out where you were. If you’re still on your way, don’t bothering. We can always reschedule.”
“What are you saying?” Hadley’s gaze tightened. “If you’re not feeling good, I’m obviouslying over! What’s going on? Where are you feeling bad? I’m already here at the hospital! Hang on! I’ll be right there with you!”
Without hesitation, she began running toward the Emergency Center.
“Hadley!” Eric shouted after her, realizing he was still holding the bag of pastries.
Since she’d left it behind, he knew he had to deliver it to her. He quickly went after her, following her into the ER.
Hadley rushed right up to the nurse station. “Excuse me, where can I find Dr. Hayes? I’m her friend.”
The nurse’s eyes lit up. “You must be Hadley, right?”
The nurse then turned and led Hadley inside. “Dr. Hayes is right this way. Follow me, please.”
As they walked, Hadley didn’t wait. “What’s her condition, exactly?”
“It was pretty scary a while ago.” The nurse frowned. “She passed out suddenly right in the middle of her shift handover. She’s okay now, though—she woke up after we gave her some oxygen.”

The nurse paused at a certain door. “Dr. Hayes is in here. Go on in. You can get all the details from her.”
“Thank you.” Hadley pushed the door open and rushed in, but Eric hung back, giving the women privacy.
“Hadley.”
“Colleen!”
Since it was a private room with no one else inside, Hadley wasted no time and rushed right to the bedside, immediately taking in Colleen’s pale face.
Since the day they met, Hadley had never seen her friend look so frail.
“What happened to you? What exactly are you feeling?”
Colleen offered a weak smile, her hand resting gently on her lower abdomen. “It’s only a stomachache,” she murmured.
She then shook her head. “It’s nothing, honestly. Just too much work. I’m probably run down. Plus, my period’s been offtely.”
Hadley frowned deeply. “Seriously, why are you pushing yourself so hard? You’re clearly exhausted.”
Colleen gave a helpless, smallugh. “When I’m this busy, I don’t have time to worry or think about anything else.”
As she spoke, unshed tears made her eyes glisten. She hadn’t said much, yet her silence revealed everything.
Hadley understood perfectly, yet she felt utterly useless.
“Don’t tell me stomach pains that make you faint are nothing. As a woman—and a doctor—you absolutely can’t ignore something like this. Did you get this checked out yet? Do we know what the problem is?”
“Not yet,” Colleen said, shaking her head. “They’ve ordered the tests. I’ll go for the examination once I feel a bit stronger.”
“Okay.” Hadley sat down by the bed. “I’ll go with youter.”
Two quick knocks sounded on the door, and then Eric walked in.
Colleen offered a faint smile. “Mr. Scott.”
