?Chapter 2965:
“About that…” Eric sighed and exined, “Grandma, I have proposed before—”
“So what? You think one proposal’s a lifetime pass or something?” N, hot-headed as ever, snapped in an instant. “You know what? That proposal was ages ago! You and Hadley crashed and burned back then, so that proposal doesn’t even count! You need to…”
“I need to propose again,” Eric cut in, finishing her thought. “Isn’t that what you mean?”
Her eyes widened for a beat, caught off guard. “Yes. That’s exactly what I’m saying.”
“Of course.” Eric nodded in agreement. “That’s what I want too.”

Something as big as marriage had been pretty half-assed the first time around for him and Hadley. Back then, they didn’t even have a wedding.
The n back then had been simple: get the papers done first, hold the weddingter.
But Ernest’s ident had struck like a bolt from the blue, and their ns had dissolved overnight.
The wedding was canceled without another word, and no objection was voiced.
“This time…” Eric said firmly. “We’ll do it right. We’ll celebrate properly, with a grand wedding.”
“Yes, exactly!” N’s face lit with agreement.
“So…” Eric chuckled. “So how could I casually bring it up with Hadley? It needs to be done properly, with a real proposal to begin with.”
“True…” N nodded her head. “But tell me—how do you n on making it grand?”
Proposals were basically just a formality, nothing more.
N ventured, “You’re both swamped with work. Why don’t I help?”
There was no point stressing over it themselves; hiring a professional wedding nner would do the trick.
After all, some things were best left to the professionals.
“Sure,” Eric agreed with a smile. “Then I’ll leave it in your hands, Grandma.”
“Leave it to me,” N said, her expression softening. “Nothing makes me happier than a joyful event in the family.”
“But…” Eric added. “As for the timing, you’ll need to confirm with meter. I have some things to prepare first. Until then, we can’t move ahead.”
“What things?” she pressed.
“Well…” Eric only smiled slyly. “Can’t tell you yet. Hadley has to be the first to know, doesn’t she?”
“Oh…” N’s eyes glimmered with sudden understanding. “A proposal gift, isn’t it?”
Eric grinned, shing her a thumbs-up. “Grandma, you’re sharp as ever.”
Nughed. “I’m getting old, not slow, young man.”
“Nonsense! You’re still as young as you’re sharp, Grandma.”
“You cheeky brat! Always so smooth with your words.”
“But Grandma…” Eric’s expression turned thoughtful. “I’ll handle the wedding ns. But when ites to children, we should respect Hadley’s wishes.”
He exined, “If she wants more children, she can decide how many. If she doesn’t, that’s fine too. We already have Joy.”
His words hung in the air, and for a moment, he braced himself for her disapproval.
“If we don’t get to have more, we can pour all our energy into raising Joy. One day, she’ll take after you—and that would be more than enough.”
“Bah!” N frowned upon hearing that. “You have no idea. My parents always wanted more kids but had only me because of health reasons.”
“Grandma…” Eric murmured, but she cut him off.
N said, “Don’t tie yourself in knots over it. As long as you treat Hadley with genuine care, she’ll be happy. And when a wife is truly happy, she’ll naturally want children.”
Besides, times had changed. With modern medicine and proper care, childbirth wasn’t the terrifying ordeal it once was.
Eric didn’t argue further. He only nodded solemnly.
“Grandma, don’t worry. I’ll treat Hadley well—always.”
Later, leaving the main building, Eric nced at his watch. Instead of heading straight out for his engagement, he turned his steps toward Crimson House.
