?Chapter 2963:
“Miss Pearson.” A servant approached carrying a bowl of steaming soup. “Here’s your soup.”
“Huh? What kind of soup is that?” N leaned over to examine her bowl more closely. “Why does hers look different from mine?”
A bowl of clear vegetable soup sat before N.
Hadley gave a small shake of her head. “I have no idea.”
She lifted the lid carefully, and the rich aroma of chicken wafted up to greet her. “Is this… chicken soup?”
“Yes.” The servant nodded, a warm smile crossing her face. “Kira gave the instructionsst night. Mr. Scott ordered it specially because you weren’t feeling well.”
The phrase “not feeling well” was a polite reference to her monthly cycle.
“I started preparing itst night with the finest chicken we had. It began simmering early this morning. Please try it and see what you think.”
“Thank you.” Hadley returned the smile and took a tentative sip. “This is delicious. Thank you so much.”
“You’re most wee. Please enjoy your breakfast, Mrs. Flynn, Miss Pearson.”
The moment the servant disappeared from view, N turned to Hadley with a knowing smile ying at her lips.
????????n???? a??? ??????s????? ??? ??a?????????????.??o??
“N…”
Hadley squirmed under the intensity of that gaze, heat creeping up her neck. “Please finish your soup before it loses its warmth.”
“Alright,” N answered with an amused smile.
N sipped her soup before asking in a hushed voice, “When are you and Eric nning to tie the knot?”
The question blindsided Hadleypletely.
She froze mid-swallow, the soup nearly going down the wrong way. “N!”
“What’s the matter?” N’s grin widened, deepening the lines around her eyes and mouth. “Can’t I ask a simple question? My body might be failing me, but my mind remains perfectly sharp. I can see clear as day that you two have reconciled, haven’t you?”
Living under the same roof meant nothing when the dynamics between siblings differed so drastically from those between a man and woman.
“Yes.” Hadley gave a reluctant nod, unable to bring herself to deceive N.
“I knew it all along!” N’s face lit up with pure delight, her handsing together in an enthusiastic p. “That’s absolutely wonderful!”
Then she leaned forward, her expression turning serious. “What are you two waiting for exactly? Joy has grown so much already. Aren’t you nning to remarry and give her a little brother or sister soon? Let me tell you something…”
N dropped her voice to a conspiratorial whisper. “I realize you’re still young, but Eric is pushing forty now. Time isn’t on his side anymore! Having children while you’re both young is ideal. When a man ages, it impacts the quality of his seeds. You understand what I’m saying, don’t you?”
Hadley sat there utterly speechless, her mouth opening and closing without sound.
Meanwhile, in the spacious CEO office at Scott Group headquarters, Eric suddenly sneezed.
“Achoo!”
