?Chapter 2910:
“That will be for the courts to decide.”
Still, after a pause, he nced at Hadley.
“We’ll ask Cristian to be ourwyer.”
Cristian…
Chelsey recognized the name. He was the one who had managed to send her to prison.
“I see,” Chelsey answered with a nk nod.
Inside, she knew things would not end well for Linda.
In the end, both of them would likely meet the same fate.
“Chelsey.” Thinking of where Chelsey hade from, Hadley tried to reassure her.
“You’re not the same as they are…”
After all, Chelsey hadn’t chosen the family she was born into. What really mattered was that, deep down, she wasn’t a bad person.
“If you behave yourself and show good conduct, maybe you can get out early. You’re still in your early twenties, and there’s a lot of life ahead of you…”
“Me?” Chelsey gave a small, bitter smile and shook her head. Her voice was thick with pain.
“Someone like me doesn’t get to dream about a bright future. No matter where I go, my record will always follow me…”
Hadley fell silent for a moment.
“Don’t worry.”
Eric nced at Hadley, his expression gentle. Then he looked back at Chelsey and said, “Once you’re out of here, I’ll make sure you can start over. Your past won’t hold you back.”
Hadley’s face lit up. She turned to Chelsey with a warm smile.
“Did you hear that?”
“Yes, I heard. Thank you, Mr. Scott.” Chelsey’s eyes filled with tears.

“Thank you, Hadley.”
She understood that Eric’s promise was, in part, for Hadley’s sake.
“No need to thank me.” Hadley smiled, giving a small shake of her head.
“I’lle see you again next visiting day.”
“Alright.”
They got into the car and drove off, leaving White Lake Prison behind.
Hadley leaned against the window, watching Eric’s reflection in the ss. His face revealed nothing.
She was honestly curious.
What was going through his mind, now that he’d learned Linda was Letty’s daughter?
Even though Chelsey was certain Linda hadn’t worked with Letty back when Linda saved Eric and Ernest that year…
Still, the trafficker’s own daughter had ended up saving two kidnapped children.
The whole thing felt almost ironic.
If Linda had done it alone, what had she used to pull it off? How had she managed to get them out of that ce? And why would she go to such lengths for them?
She must have figured out who they were early on. Maybe saving them was simply the smartest way to secure her own future.
Hadley pressed her lips together in silence. It fit perfectly with how she saw Linda—honestly, it was exactly the sort of thing Linda would do.
