?Chapter 2889:
He thrust both hands forward eagerly.
“Mr. Flynn, what an honor!”
Ernest nced down at the hands, hesitated, then gave one a reluctant shake.
“I never thought he was truly your son!” the man gushed.
“When the boy first said it, I assumed he was lying. But then—well, how could a child that young know your name unless it were true? And just look at them—so well-bred, so out of ce here…”
The admiration in his tone deepened.
“Your son is remarkable. At such a young age, he already knows how to seek help when in trouble. A brilliant mind, destined for great—”
“Enough.” Ernest’s voice cut through like a de. He hadn’te for empty praise. His gaze sharpened.
“Where are the kids?”
The doctor faltered.
“The kids? They… left.”
“Left?” Ernest’s voice rose, a dangerous edge threading through it.
“Yes,” the man stammered.
“The boy injured his forehead. After twenty-four hours under observation, with noplications, they went on their way…”
“You—!” Ernest’s voice thundered, raw with fury. His re was so sharp it seemed to pierce straight through the doctor, making the man’s blood run cold.
The look in Ernest’s eyes was terrifying—dark, unyielding, and capable of crushing a man without a single word.
Ellis stepped in, unwilling to let the moment spiral further.
“Doctor, you were responsible for their care. Whether they stayed or left should have been your decision.”
The doctor blinked, realization dawning toote.
?????????????????? ???? ???????????????? → g???????ν????????????
“Well… yes, that’s true.”
“Then you must know where they went,” Ellis pressed.
“You must have some record.”
“Yes, yes, of course.” The doctor scurried inside, producing the patient registry.
But the log contained nothing useful—names only, without addresses or contact numbers.
Useless.
Ernest and Ellis exchanged a grim silence.
Cold sweat broke out on the doctor’s brow.
“But… everyone whoes here lives in the surrounding mountains. They must be nearby.”
Another empty statement.
Ernest’s jaw tightened.
“Mr. Flynn,” Ellis said, his voice steady, “we should begin searching the area at once.”
Ernest gave a sharp nod.
“Do it.”
There was little else they could do.
