?Chapter 2771:
“I’m not sure,” the servant admitted, giving a small shake of his head.
“He said hisst name is Gomez.”
“Gomez?” N was stillpletely clueless.
Ernest tensed up. The name clicked instantly. Could it be Ellis?
He actually came?
“You know who that is?” N said, eyeing Ernest closely.
Since it would be impolite to refuse a guest who hade this far, she turned back to the servant.
“Bring him in.”
Ernest said nothing. With the Gomez family’s influence and Ellis’ status, sending him away outright wasn’t an option.
At the front of the house, Hadley made her way down from the study upstairs. She had just gone through the bills for the week. She still had paperwork to finish, but that could wait.
At that moment, a voice came from the entryway.
“Mr. Gomez, this way, please.”
The mention of “Mr. Gomez” made Hadley freeze, her gaze narrowing on the man.
Ellis gave a polite nod.
“Thank you,” he said as he lingered by the entrance.
Beside him sat a neat stack of boxes that looked like carefully prepared offerings.
A jolt of unease ran through Hadley the moment she noticed them.
“Ellis!” Hadley snapped, hurrying over with a scowl.
“What are you doing here?”
“Well…” He rubbed at his temple awkwardly.
“I came to see Mrs. Flynn.”
???????????? ?????????? ???????????? ???? ?????????ν??????﹒??????
“And why are you doing this? Did I invite you over?” Hadley’s temper red.
“You ought to just…”
She thrust her hand toward the doorway.
“Get out!”
“Hadley, let him stay. Grandma wants to see him.” From behind her, Ernest’s voice carried firmly.
That revtion left Hadley dumbstruck. N had already given her consent?
Ellis curved his lips into a faint smile.
“What do you say?”
Hadley let out a dry scoff. He had made the choice on his own, and now he was pretending to care about her opinion?
“Fine,e in,” she muttered sharply before stepping forward.
With an uneasy grin toward Ernest, Ellis trailed after her.
Ernest exhaled heavily. Thank goodness Eric wasn’t around—he had gone to Crimson House with Joy. If he had been here, the situation would have spiraledpletely out of control. Still, the tension in the house was more than enough already.
Once they entered the living room, Hadley settled next to N.
“My darling,” N sped Hadley’s hand with a gentle smile. Upon lifting her head, N’s eyes sharpened instantly, settling squarely on Ellis with keen intensity.
“You are Mr. Gomez, aren’t you?”
