Chapter 2756

    ?Chapter 2756:

    “Just call me Ellis.”

She hesitated, but then nodded again.

    “Alright, Ellis.”

The way she said it felt distant. He could tell this wasn’t a date.

Sure enough, she said, “I came here to talk.”

“Alright.” He tilted his head slightly.

    “Go on.”

“I don’t understand…” She took a breath and began, her voice low.

“Why are you so persistent about being with me?”

Instead of answering, Ellis asked, “Are you thinking of walking away?”

“I…” She faltered. Words tangled on her tongue.

She looked at him and said quietly, “Making amitment isn’t something small. We’ve only met a few times, but you’re already so…”

    She met his gaze, uncertain.

“I think I deserve to know why.”

“What is it you’re afraid of?” His tone stayed even as he followed her thoughts.

“You think I’m not serious? That I’ll change once I have you?”

He shook his head. His face turned solemn.

“You don’t have to worry. I’ll treat you well.”

He paused, thinking over his next words.

“You’ve met my mother. She was a bit too enthusiastic the other day, I know. But that was because my mother thought highly of you. Like I said, my family respects my choices. They won’t get in the way. If anything, they’ll wee you.”

He looked at her and smiled, soft and fleeting.

“I told you before. I fell for you the first time I saw you. I’m not letting go because I truly like you.”

    His voice dropped.

    ?????????????? ?????????? ?????? ?????? ???? gal????ν??????.??????

“I like you very much. I want a future with you. If we get married, I’ll treat you right. I’ll love your daughter like my own.”

Hadley sat still, her thoughts turning heavy. Her chest tightened. She tried another angle.

“But you don’t really know me. Maybe once you do, you’ll see we’re not as good together as you think.”

“Then I’ll figure it out.” Ellis kept his voice calm, but it held weight.

“There’s no such thing as a perfect match from the beginning. You don’t need to worry about that. When I say I’ll make it work, I mean I’ll adjust. You don’t have to change a thing. If something doesn’t fit, I’ll be the one to bend.”

After speaking, Ellis spread his hands slightly.

    “Any other questions?”

    Hadley stayed silent.

His words carried an unmistakable note of concession—an unconditionalpromise, just for her.

    But—

    “Yes.”

Summoning her resolve, Hadley steadied her heart.
