?Chapter 1452:
“Humph.” Ernest let out a cold breath. “Of course, it was her.”
He had told the staff at the Flynn Mansion to make sure they never crossed paths. But Linda had found a way, as always.
Elissa noticed the change in his expression. “I should thank her. If she hadn’t told me, I’d still be living a lie… enjoying something that was never meant for me.”
“Why do you think it wasn’t meant for you?”
Ernest cut in, his eyes sharp. “Elissa, listen to me. Everything I’ve done—everything—was because you deserve it.”
“But…” Her voice trembled. “I’m not Locke’s mother…”
“Elissa.” Ernest’s brow furrowed. He didn’t understand how it hade to this. “Don’t you remember… giving birth?”
She stared at him, stunned. “What are you saying? I mean…”
He hesitated. He had wanted to wait. But now there was no point.
“You are Locke’s mother. He’s your son.”
A jolt of shock ran through her, numbing her from head to toe.
She stared at him, wide-eyed. “What… What did you say?”
“Elissa.” Ernest took her hand again, holding her gaze. “Locke IS your child. I nned to tell you after you and Locke had bonded more… after your divorce from Robin. But it’s time.”
She watched his lips move, but the words didn’t register.
That one sentence alone echoed over and over in her mind. “Locke is your child. Locke is your child.”
Elissa sat frozen, her mouth slightly open, her breathing quickening by the second. She murmured, “No… No. That’s impossible. How could that be?”
“Elissa.”

Ernest felt her hand grow cold. He moved closer to her side and knelt in front of her.
“I don’t know why you can’t remember giving birth… but Locke really is your child.” He paused, then added with quiet emphasis, “He’s our child.”
Elissa shook her head, her face drained of color.
“That’s impossible.” She let out a weak, nervousugh. “How could I not know I had a child?”
Having a baby wasn’t something a woman just forgot. It was life-altering—months of physical change, followed by an unbreakable bond.
A mother’s love wasn’t something that vanished, even with lost memories.
Her voice grew tight. “Mr. Flynn, you must be mistaken. I’m not—”
“Elissa…” Ernest stood and pulled out his phone. “Wait here.” He tapped into a secured folder, then held the screen out to her.
“What is it?” she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
“Paternity tests,” he said. “One confirms you and Locke. The other confirms me and Locke.”
When he first found them after waking from hisa, he’d run the tests—both digital and hard copies.
