?Chapter 1376:
His hand lingered. His gaze deepened.
So close now, he caught a faint trace of her scent.
Eric raised a brow, his thoughts faltering. Without meaning to, he leaned in—his lips inching towards hers. The space between them slowly disappeared.
Hadley suddenly stirred. Her eyes then opened.
Eric jerked back.
“Were you trying to kiss me?” Her voice was soft, her eyes only half-open.
Eric swallowed hard. His palms felt damp. “May I?”
She looked at him, confused. “Are you lonely?” Then she sighed. “Don’t kiss me. Go find someone else… It’s not your first time kissing someone else anyway.”
“Hadley?” A chill ran through him. He wanted to exin.
But she had already turned away, hugging the pillow he gave her. She mumbled something under her breath.
“Hadley, what did you say?” He leaned closer, straining to hear. But she seemed to have fallen asleep. Her breaths were slow. Hershes rested, still damp against her skin.
She cried?
Eric’s chest tightened. He had hurt her.
Everything that happened with A—he couldn’t deny how much it had damaged her.
It was on him. He never gave her the reassurance she deserved. He wrapped his arms around her gently as he whispered, “I’m sorry. I won’t let it happen again. You don’t have to be scared.”
Since filming for the new drama began, Hadley had been waking up at seven every morning.
However, she slept in that morning, nearly until nine. The night before, she had stayed upte… and drank a bit too much. “Is it already thiste?”
Hadley rushed through a shower. Feeling refreshed, she changed her clothes and headed downstairs.
She grabbed her phone, ready to call her bodyguard.

As she reached the bottom step, she looked up and saw Eric standing there. His left arm rested in a sling, and he was smiling at her.
“Morning, Hadley.”
“Why are you at home?” she asked, confused.
Did she really just use the word “home”?
Eric liked the sound of that. His smile widened. “Don’t you remember what happenedst night?”
Hadley recalled he had picked her up from the set.
But why was he here now? Shouldn’t he be in the hospital?
“I was discharged.” Eric nced at his hand, flexing his fingers slightly. “It’s been two weeks. Treatment’s over. Recovery takes time, but it doesn’t have to happen in a hospital.”
“I see.” Hadley nodded, checking the time on her phone. “I have to go. I’m alreadyte…”
As she passed by him, Eric reached out and stopped her.
“You just got up. You haven’t eaten. You drankst night. How do you feel? Does your head still hurt?”<fn17f9> This update is avable on find?novel</fn17f9>
