?Chapter 1344:
Hadley froze, startled by his reaction. His face had gone ghostly pale, and that was all the confirmation she needed. Through gritted teeth, she demanded, “Let me see!”
With one firm pull, she brought his arm forward.
The suit jacket loosely wrapped around his left hand slipped off and dropped to the ground.
The smell of blood immediately filled the air.
Hadley’s eyes locked onto his hand and widened in horror.
She stood there, stunned, unable to speak.
Beside her, Cordell and Phillips caught sight of his hand as well, and both gasped.
“You, you…” Hadley’s voice shook, and her eyes filled with tears. “Your hand… how could this happen?” Tears streamed down her cheeks.
Eric gently raised his right hand and cupped her face. “Don’t cry,” he said softly. “I’m going to Ferris. They can reattach itter. It won’t be lost for good.”
What was he even saying?
Hadley’s throat tightened painfully. Tears continued to rush down her cheeks, and she was unable to speak.
He had sacrificed a part of himself… just to bring their daughter back. She bit down on her lip as she choked with sobs. Looking up at him, she couldn’t find the words.
“It’s alright.” Eric brushed his fingers across her tear-streaked cheek. He gave her a faint, reassuring smile. “Take Joy to the hospital. I need to go to Ferris now. If I wait too long… they won’t be able to save the finger.”
Hadley opened her mouth, trying to speak, but no words came. In the end, she only nodded through the tears, took Joy from Phillips, and climbed silently into the car.
Through the car window, Hadley looked back at Eric, her eyes red and brimming with tears.
“Hurry up…” Eric called out with a faint smile. He then lifted his hand to wave at her. “Take her to the hospital.”
The window slowly rolled up, but Hadley’s gaze clung to him until the car pulled away.

As the car disappeared from view, Eric’s expression changed.
He shut his eyes tightly and his body began to sway unsteadily.
“Mr. Scott!” Cordell rushed forward to support him. “Are you okay?” Eric was not even close to being okay, but he clenched his jaw and forced himself to stay upright.
With Hadley out of sight, he no longer needed to pretend.
His breath came in shallow gasps. “Take me to Ferris… now…”<fn9517> ?????? ???? Find★Novel</fn9517>
“Yes, sir!” Cordell responded, then barked at his men, “Quickly, get Mr. Scott into the car! And call the hospital! Make sure they’re ready on standby!”
“Understood!”
Cordell and the bodyguards steadied Eric as they guided him back to Olisvale Bay.
“How in the world did this happen?”
Ferris froze, horrified at Eric’s injured left hand, and then shot a furious look at Cordell.
“I specifically ordered you to keep an eye on him. Is this your idea of protection? Completely worthless!”
Cordell epted the reprimand without protest. “Sir, it’s entirely my fault. I failed in my duties.”
