Chapter 1343

    ?Chapter 1343:

“Rx,” Gifford said, spreading his hands while exining. “She’s fine. I just gave her a mild sedative to make her sleep.”

    Eric’s eyes zed.

    A sleeping pill? For a four-year-old?

But now wasn’t the time for retribution. Holding Joy protectively, he clenched his jaw and turned away.

As Eric walked off with his daughter, Gifford’s gaze drifted to the severed finger on the table. A shiver ran down his spine.

    Eric was terrifyingly ruthless.

No wonder Ferris had chosen him over all his sons to be the heir.

    “Joy!”

Outside, in the distance, Hadley caught sight of Eric approaching with Joy in his arms. She flung the car door open and rushed toward them.

    “Joy!”

“Careful,” Eric said gently, passing the sleeping child into her arms.

    “Joy!”

Hadley clutched her daughter tightly, her entire world narrowing down to the child nestled against her chest.

Joy remained fast asleep, hershes casting soft shadows across her cheeks.

Hadley’s gaze darted up to Eric, rmed. “What happened? Is she hurt?”

“No.” Eric shook his head lightly. “Gifford just gave her something to help her sleep.”

He then instructed Phillips, “Take Hadley and Joy to the hospital. I want her thoroughly checked to make sure she’spletely okay.”

“Understood,” Phillips replied firmly. He wasted no time, immediately ready to carry out the order.

Hadley held Joy tightly, urging, “Then let’s hurry.”

“Mr. Scott…” Behind them, Cordell stepped forward, his brows furrowed as he looked Eric over. “He just let you walk away with your daughter like that?”<fne61d> Read full story at Find1Novel</fne61d>

It didn’t sit right with him. Something was off.

“You don’t look well…” he added.

At those words, Hadley finally turned her attention to Eric.

And she saw it too. Something was wrong.

“What’s the matter? Are you feeling unwell?” Her brow creased as she caught a faint metallic scent and noticed the odd angle of his arm. “Why are you keeping your arm behind you?”

“I’m fine…” Eric replied with a faint smile, shaking his head as if to brush it off.

Ever since he stepped outside, his left arm had remained behind him.

“Fine?” Hadley’s voice sharpened with suspicion. “If you’re fine, then show me your arm!”

As Hadley spoke, she handed Joy to Phillips and then immediately reached for Eric’s hidden arm. “Did you get into a fight with him? Are you hurt?”

    “Hadley, really… It’s nothing. Don’t look…”

“Let me see!” Hadley was insistent. His refusal only deepened her concern.

“Why can I smell blood then? Eric, what did you do?”

In the struggle, she identally tugged at his injured hand, causing Eric to wince and grunt. “Ah!”
