?Chapter 1331:
“I’m fine.” Hadley shook her head, undeterred. “Not thirsty.”
She held out her hand. “My phone, please.”
“Oh, right here.” Chelsey handed it over with a smile.
Hadley unlocked the screen and noticed a missed call from Brady.
Since she hadn’t picked up, he had left a message instead.
Hadley opened it, her eyes scanning the words.
“Hey, did my mom track you down? Don’t mind her; I’ll sort it out. Please don’t go out of your way for me.”
The message didn’t lift Hadley’s spirits—quite the opposite. A heavy weight settled in her chest.
Brady was a world apart from his parents.
He had rescued Joy and always looked out for Hadley, treating her like kin.
Could she really stand idly by when he was in trouble? But how could she broach this with Eric?
Caught in her inner turmoil, Hadley let out a deep, weary sigh.
Chelsey, ever observant, watched in silence.
She slipped away to a quiet corner, pulled out her phone, and dialed a number. “Hello, Mr. Brown.” It was Phillips on the line.
“Hello, Miss Williams. Is this about Hadley?”
“Indeed,” Chelsey replied, ncing around to ensure privacy. “She has been out of sorts all morning, distracted by some trouble. She even caught a scolding from Mr. Faulkner!”
“That serious?” Phillips’s voice sharpened with concern. “What is troubling her?”
“Well…” Chelsey began.
That morning, when she had gone to Milnd Road to fetch Hadley, she had overheard her talking with Noreen. Butcking context about Noreen, much of it was a mystery.
“Take your time,” Phillips encouraged, eager to understand. “You mentioned someone with business woes. Any idea who?”

Chelsey racked her brain. “Brady, I believe that’s the name.”
The name clicked for Phillips. “Got it. I’ll handle it.”
“Alright.”
“Thank you, Miss Williams,” Phillips said warmly. “If anything like this crops up again, please let me know right away.”
“Of course!”
As he ended the call, Phillips sought out Eric.
“Mr. Scott, Hadley is in a bind.”
Eric’s gaze snapped up, piercing. “Tell me everything.”
“No need to fret, sir. To be exact, it’s Brady who is in trouble… and this could be your opportunity.”
Brady?
Eric’s throat tightened. “Get to the point.”
Phillips ryed the situation. “For Brady, it is a serious issue.” For Eric, however, it was a trifling matter, easily fixed.<fnb68f> ???? ????s? ???????s ?? find~novel</fnb68f>
Eric fell silent, then gave a slight nod. “Have someone reach out to Brady.”
Phillips, though expecting this, was mildly surprised. “Directly to Brady, sir? Shouldn’t you speak with Hadley first?” This was a golden chance to win Hadley’s goodwill.
