Chapter 1330

    ?Chapter 1330:

“Me?” Hadley blinked, taken aback. “You’re asking me for help?”

“Yes…” Noreen managed a strained smile, her audacity as thick as ever. How else could she have stolen her sister’s husband all those years ago? “I know I’ve wronged you, and you loathe me with every fiber of your being. You couldn’t care less about my fate—but what about Brady?” she pleaded. “Brady treats you like his own flesh and blood. He didn’t hesitate to donate bone marrow to Joy! Now…”

“He is in deep trouble. As his sister, can you really stand by and do nothing?”

Hadley listened in silence, her brow creasing further.

She harbored no love for the Jenkins family, least of all Noreen. If they ended up destitute, she wouldn’t shed a tear. But Brady… Noreen had yed her trump card well.

Still, confusion lingered. “Are you confused? What could I possibly do to help?”

“Not you directly,” Noreen said, her eyes glinting with hope at Hadley’sck of outright refusal. “But Mr. Scott—he can! You’re aware of the Scott family, aren’t you?”

Through Eric, Hadley knew a little. The Scott family’s vast empire, a titan in finance and logistics, had dominated for over half a century.

“One word from Mr. Scott, and his logisticswork could resolve our crisis in a heartbeat!” Noreen urged, her voice fervent. “Hadley, for Brady’s sake, please! It’s a small favor to ask of Mr. Scott. Just say the word, and he’ll surely help.”

    Just say the word?

Hadley felt a heavy mix of frustration and resignation settle over her.

Why did this have to circle back to Eric?

She shook her head slowly, her frown resolute. “I can’t help with this.”

“What?” Noreen’s face fell, disbelief etched in her features. “Did you not hear me? I’m not asking for my sake—I’m asking for Brady’s!”

“And I said I can’t help,” Hadley repeated firmly.

ncing up, she noticed Chelsey nearby, likely having seen her speaking with Noreen and waiting quietly at a distance.

Hadley gave her a nod. “Chelsey, let’s go.”

“Alright,” Chelsey replied, falling into step.

“Hadley! Hadley!” Noreen’s desperate cries chased after her. “You can’t turn your back on Brady! Did you hear me?”

Her anger and desperation boiled over, her true colors spilling out as Hadley stood firm in her refusal.

“Brady was beside himself with worry, up all night, racing to fix this business mess! He treats you like his own sister, and you’re just taking advantage of him? Hadley, have you no heart?”

“Cut!” Adonis’ voice rang out, sharp with frustration—an uncharacteristic crack in his usually polished demeanor. For what felt like the hundredth time that day, he…

Adonis fixed Hadley with a stern look. “No, that’s all wrong! Your emotions are off. You’re meant to be sorrowful, not dazed! Can’t you feel the difference between grief and being adrift?”

“I’m sorry…” Hadley murmured, her head bowed, her lips pressed tight as she offered quiet apologies.

“Take a break. Pull yourself together,” Adonis ordered.

“Yes, Mr. Faulkner,” Hadley replied softly, retreating to regroup.

“Hadley.” Chelsey approached Hadley, shielding her with an umbre and offering a water bottle. “Take a moment to rest,” she urged gently.
