?Chapter 1324:
Hadley didn’t bother replying. There was no point in answering a question with an obvious answer. She kept walking and headed straight inside.
Eric’s eyes dimmed, and he trailed behind her with a bitter smile.
Inside, Hadley’s eyesnded on Elissa, sitting alone on a bench with her shoulders slumped and eyes vacant. She hurried over and sat beside her.
“Elissa! What happened? Why are you here?”
Still shaken, Elissa answered, “Mrs. Flynn asked me if I was getting a divorce.”
Hadley blinked, momentarily stunned. But the pieces clicked together quickly enough. She reached out and held Elissa’s hand. “Don’t overthink it. This isn’t your fault…”
Elissa turned to her, eyes wide with confusion and fear. “But—”
“Of course it’s your fault!”
The voice rang out like a p. All three of them turned at once.
It was Linda.
She sat in a wheelchair just a few steps away, her face stiff and unreadable. She had dismissed her caregiver and wheeled herself forward, eyes locked onto Elissa with a chilling stare.
“What did you say?” Elissa blinked, stunned. She couldn’t understand why she was suddenly being med.
“Didn’t you hear me? Or are you just ying dumb?” Linda sneered, herughterced with mockery. “You’re the married woman shamelessly clinging to Ernest. N got upset because of you!”
Elissa’s body tensed up.
“Linda!” Hadley stepped in, snapping, “Why did N suddenly find out about this? It was you, wasn’t it? You were the one who told her! You’re the reason why she’s upset, not Elissa!”
Upon hearing this, Linda burst outughing as if Hadley had told a joke. “Oh, that’s hrious!”
The next second, her tone dropped, and her sharp eyes swept over both of them like a de.
“Yes, I told her. But Hadley, you really think this is on me? You should be ashamed of yourself.”

She then turned her re back to Elissa. “Tell me. Are you married or not? Did I make things up?”
Elissa’s face went pale. She opened her mouth, but no words came out.<fn38a9> ??? ????? ???????s ??? ?????s??? ?? FindN()vel</fn38a9>
“Stop twisting the truth, Linda! Yes, Elissa’s married. But Ernest has known that from the beginning. He knows the situation better than anyone!” Hadley did not hold back defending her friend. “But because Ernest would rather wait for Elissa to get divorced than even look your way, you held a grudge. You deliberately provoked N, hoping she’d get upset. What did you expect? That making her sick would turn Ernest against Elissa? Keep dreaming. Ernest isn’t naive. He’ll see right through your scheme. And when he does, he’ll hold you ountable. You’re the one to me for all of this!”
“Hadley, what the hell did you—”
“Linda!” Eric angrily stepped forward and shook his head at her.
“That’s enough. This is a hospital, not a ce for arguments.”
“What?” Linda blinked, caught off guard. Then, she let out a bitterugh. “Now you see me arguing? What about her? Didn’t you hear her shouting at me?”
Eric didn’t answer. His eyes flicked toward Hadley, but his words stayed pointed at Linda. “Grandma’s still inside. Don’t forget where we are.”
