Chapter 1126

    ?Chapter 1126:

“But Mom!” Brady’s head throbbed with pain as he tried to persuade her, but to no avail.

He rushed to Hadley’s ce first; it was crucial to inform Melba about the incident, especially since Joy might be upset when she woke up from her nap and her mother wasn’t there for her. He needed to ensure Joy remained calm.

Arriving at Hadley’s, he ryed the situation to a distressed Melba.

“Mr. Jenkins, what will happen to Hadley?” she asked with concern.

“Don’t worry,” Brady replied, his expression grim yet determined. “I’m on it. Nothing will happen to her.”

Melba expressed her gratitude. “Thank you.”

“Please, look after Joy in the meantime.”

    “Absolutely.”

Brady rose from his chair, his next destination clear: the police station. He reached for the door, but at that moment, Denver made his appearance.

Their eyes met. “Who are you?”

Melba, recognizing the new arrival, quickly intervened. “Mr. Moran, good to see you here.”

She then facilitated the introductions, saying, “This is Mr. Denver Moran, a friend of Hadley’s; and Mr. Brady Jenkins, Hadley’s brother.”

    Friend? Brother?

Brady and Denver took a moment to adjust to these revtions.

    “I’m Brady.”

    “And I’m Denver.”

Denver scrutinized Brady’s face, searching for clues, and then turned to Melba. “Is Hadley not around? What’s going on?”

Melba turned towards Brady with a heavy sigh. “Mr. Jenkins, would you mind exining? Hadley and Denver have a strong bond.”

“Sure.” Brady agreed, quickly briefing Denver on the current circumstances. “Now, I must rush to the police station.”

    “I’ming with you,” Denver said.

A mutual understanding passed between them as they left for the police station.

During the drive, Denver made a call to Marshall. “Marshall, I need Cristian’s help. Can you arrange that?”

“Why? Are you in trouble?” Marshall asked.

Cristian was a legal titan in Srixby, undefeated in court. Securing his services was no small feat, and Denver’s connections alone might not suffice, which was why he reached out to his cousin.

“It’s for Hadley—she’s the one in trouble.”

“What?” Marshall’s voice spiked with urgency, casting a sidelong nce at Eric who was with him. Marshall and Eric were in the middle of their usual gathering when Denver’s call came through.

“Just a moment,” Marshall said, and then switched the phone to speaker mode. “Now tell me everything.”

Denver didn’t waste a moment. He proceeded to outline the urgent matter over the phone. “It’s imperative we get Cristian on this. Hadley needs the best defense we can provide.”

Realizing the gravity of the situation, Marshall responded promptly, “I’ll see what I can do.”
