Chapter 1125

    ?Chapter 1125:

    “What?! How?”

“I don’t know—it just happened. She fell all of a sudden!”

    “I’ming up!”

Minutester, Brady arrived. Together, they rushed Astrid to the hospital.

The diagnosis was grim: a mild concussion, a fractured left shin, and two broken ribs.

    Brady informed his parents.

“Astrid! Where is she?” Noreen burst into the emergency wing first, Cade right behind her.

“Mom,” Brady caught her, “she’s still in treatment, but the doctor said her injuries aren’t life-threatening. Try not to panic.”

“Not life-threatening?” Noreen’s re could have scorched the air. “She has a concussion and broken bones! That’s not something trivial!”

    “I didn’t mean—”

“My poor baby!” Noreen sobbed. “How could this happen?” Then she spotted Hadley. “You? What are you doing here?”

Cade also turned, frowning. “Hadley? Why are you here?”

Hadley opened her mouth to answer—but just then, the emergency room doors swung open. Astrid was wheeled out, pale and bandaged.

“Astrid!” Noreen rushed to her daughter’s side, tears streaming. “She’s stable now,” the doctor said. “We’re transferring her to a ward. Pleaseplete the admission forms.”

    “Thank you, doctor!”

Once Astrid was settled, Brady came out to find Hadley still waiting. He approached quickly. “Everything’s under control now. You should head home.”

“I just wanted to make sure she was okay,” Hadley said quietly.

“I know.” He smiled. “I’ll walk you out.”

“No need. You should stay with her.”

“You didn’t drive. Let me at least get you a ride.”

    “Really. It’s fine.”

    Then—

“Where do you think you are going?” Noreen stormed out of the hospital room, eyes swollen from crying—but burning with rage. She stalked toward Hadley, raising a hand. “You monster! You hurt my daughter!”

The p didn’tnd on Hadley. It hit Brady as he moved to shield Hadley.

    “Brady!” Noreen gasped. “Why?!”

Brady’s voice was tight. “Mom, what are you doing?”

“I should ask you that!” she snapped. “Astrid told me everything—Hadley pushed her!”

Brady’s jaw clenched. “That’s not true!”

“Humph!” Noreen ignored him, her re fixed on Hadley. “You tried to kill my daughter! But she’s strong—and you won’t get away with this! I’ve already called the police. They’re on their way!”

The police arrived within ten minutes, escorting Hadley from the premises.

Brady, overwhelmed with concern, eximed, “Mom! It’s not Hadley’s fault. Astrid was the one causing trouble!”

Noreen, with a stern look, responded, “Brady, you must see the truth here. Astrid is your blood sister, and she’s injured. Hadley has to face the consequences.”
