Chapter 1061

    ?Chapter 1061:

With a quiet sigh, Hadley set the towel aside, but Eric’s hand shot out, grabbing hers.

She assumed he had stirred awake.

    “Hadley, Hadley…”

    But he was still asleep.

Eric’s eyes were tightly shut, his brows furrowed, and he murmured softly, “Hadley, please stay…”

Hadley gazed at him in silence, her own expression slowly tightening with concern.

When Eric woke up, the room was silent.

He scanned around, recognizing the hospital, and a nurse nearby.

    “You’re awake?” the nurse asked.

Eric paid her no mind. Where was Hadley? He dimly remembered her getting him to the hospital. Why was he by himself now?

Had the fever tricked his senses? Or had Hadley been here and left?

He shoved the nket off, swung his legs out, and stood.

The nurse gasped, rushing to stop him. “Mr. Flynn, you can’t just—where are you going? If you need the bathroom, I’ll get someone!”

“Let go!” Eric snapped, his head throbbing, his vision hazy. “I want to be discharged!”

“What? You can’t be discharged in this state!”

The nurse was at a loss. The door to the room swung open at that moment, and Hadley stepped in, silencing the chaos.

She nced at the nurse, then at Eric. “I heard you want to be discharged?”

    Eric froze, words failing him.

“Get back in bed,” Hadley directed, her brow furrowed, her voice firm yetced with concern. “You’re far too ill for this. Stop making trouble.”

Swallowing hard, Eric nodded and obeyed, climbing back into bed, his eyes locked on her, terrified she would vanish if he blinked.

Once settled, Hadley touched his forehead, relieved. “Fever’s down. Not as bad as before.”

She studied him. “How’re you feeling?”

“Better,” Eric said slowly, his body feeling lighter after sweating through the night.

Hadley nodded. “Don’t get careless. It’s pneumonia—your temperature could spike again. Recovery takes time.”

Noticing his improved color, she asked, “You look better now. Are you hungry? Do you want something to eat?”

“Yeah,” Eric replied, still staring at her.

“Have some soup then,” Hadley said. “I ordered takeout. It just arrived, and you can eat now.”

She had stepped out to grab it earlier.

“Alright.” Eric’s gaze clung to her, agreeing to everything she said, desperate not to lose her.

    “Wait here.”

Hadley fetched the chicken soup, pulled up a chair, and sat by the bed.

Noticing the IV tube attached to Eric’s hand, she said, “Let me feed you.”
