Chapter 881

    ?Chapter 881:

“Alright.” Elissa nodded, and then paused. “Oh—do you know the gentleman who saved me?”

“Not well,” the caregiver replied. “He’s the new neighbor next door.”

Elissa perked up slightly. “Oh, so he’s the new neighbor? When did he move in?”

“About two days ago,” the caregiver replied.

Elissa mused quietly. He must be a reserved sort, not one for noise.

Next door, Ernest had bathed off the cold and changed into dry clothes.

    Elissa’s caregiver waited for him.

“Mr. Flynn,” she said, rying her chat with Elissa in full.

“I see,” Ernest replied, waving her off. “Keep a close eye on her. If it gets to be too much, I’ll send someone to split the shifts.”

    The caregiver shivered slightly. “Understood.”

As she turned to go, she gestured to the table. “Mr. Flynn, water’s there—don’t forget to drink.”

“Right.” Ernest nodded, stepping over to pick up the ss.

Chasing a baby’s cry without knowing why?

Elissa’s state might be graver than he’d thought.

He frowned, massaging his throbbing thigh.

His own recovery wasn’tplete, and today’s strain had likely pushed him too far.

One day, Hadley met with Elvin and signed the contract.

“Perfect!” Elvin smiled, shaking her hand. “I’m looking forward to working together.”

Hadleyughed. “I just hope I won’t be too much trouble.”

“Trouble? Never!” Elvin grinned as he stood and gestured for her to follow. “I worked hard to bring you on board. Now, let’s get your costumes fitted—Adonis needs to sign off on them.”

He scrunched his nose yfully. “No one’s pickier than him!”

    Hadley smiled, trailing behind.

In the dressing room, both the makeup artist and costume designer were already waiting.

Her role might not have beenrge, but the character’s visual impact was crucial.

Audiences these days were quick to criticize. If she didn’t live up to the reputation of a “renowned beauty,” she’d be roasted online without hesitation.

The character had eight distinct looks, each needing to be photographed for posters. The day turned out to be packed.

By the time she wiped off thest traces of makeup, it was nearly 7 p.m. Thankfully, her scenes weren’t too demanding. She wouldn’t have to stayte every night—or she might’ve seriously reconsidered. As she gathered her things to leave, Elvin appeared, holding a bouquet of fresh flowers. “These are for you, Hadley. Wee to the team.”

“Thank you,” she said, epting them with a smile.

Elvin checked his watch. “Headed home? I’m about to leave too. It’s hard to get a cab at this hour—want a ride?”

Hadley hesitated. “I don’t want to inconvenience you.”

“It’s no trouble,” Elvin tilted his head with a smile. “After everything you’ve helped me with—and given our friendship—it’s the least I can do. My car’s right outside. Come on.”
