Chapter 760

Leonie''s jaw dropped. A world-renowned racing legend? Could what Connor said be true?

"That was all in the past," Gwh said, trying to downy it.

But Leonie''s admiration for her only grew. No wonder she thought her aunt and the famous racer looked alike—she was her daughter! Staring at Gwh, Leoniemented, "It''s such a shame I couldn''t make it to your wedding with Uncle. If I had gone, I could have met the legend herself."

Connor was about to say something, but Leonie turned to him with a serious expression. “So, my aunt is the daughter of a racing legend. Tsk, tsk. And you were showing off."

Connor''s expression shifted. That simple-minded girl was clearly closer to Gwh. Their friendship seemed unbreakable.

"Connor, I just came to check on you," Gwh said, seeing he was fine. “Since you''re okay, I should probably get going. It''s gettingte."

Connor''s voice was muffled. "Go ahead. I''m fine, I won''t die. Besides, you''re a married woman now. It wouldn''t look good if people saw you hanging around my room all the time."

Leonie pinched him hard, making him yelp. "What was that for? That hurts!”

She red at him. "If you know what pain feels like, then stop talking nonsense. If you''re not polite to my aunt, I won''t be polite to you either."

Gwh found their bickering amusing. “You take care of him, Leonie. I''m leaving."

Leonie quickly stepped away from Connor. "I''ll walk you out, Aunt Gwh. Actually, I think I''ll leave with you." The sky was already getting dark. She''d been spending so much time at the hospital because of Connor that she always went home smelling of antiseptic. Mrs. Everhart had already started giving her suspicious looks. With her aunt around, she had a perfect excuse. She could just say she was visiting Gwh whenever she came to see Connor. Her parents would be relieved. On her way back, she could just stop by her uncle''s house, take a quick shower, and then go home.

Connor watched the two women leave, a bitter taste in his mouth. He wasn''t particrly bothered by Gwh''s departure, but when Leonie left, a hollow feeling settled in his chest.

“Bah, why am I even thinking about that crazy girl?" he muttered to himself.

His friends, who had been loitering around the hospital nning to discuss team matters with him,

    figured Leonie would be leav

    ?????

soon. After a couple ofps around the floor, they swarmed back toward his room, only to run smack into Hawthorne halfway there?

The man at the front stopped dead in his tracks, causing a chain reaction that nearly

sent the entire group tumbling over. “Watch where you''re going! Don''t you have

eyes?" the ones in the back grumbled.

    The man in the middleined,

but the one at the front just stared ahead as if he''d seen a ghost. "Holy crap, you guys, look! Isn''t that Hawthorne? And he''s with a woman! But wasn''t Gwh in Connor''s room? And that woman today was wearing a dark blue dress, but the one with Hawthorne is in red."

The gossip-loving group immediately crowded around to get a look.

"It really is Hawthorne. The guy just got married and he''s already cheating. He''s way more of a yer than Connor. At least our guy only gets on a new boat after the old one sinks." Thement earned him a series of res and he quickly his mouth That''s not what meant..."

“Shut up,” Liam snapped. He whipped out his phone and started snapping pictures

of Hawthorne and the woman beside him. Rumors could get you in trouble, but evidence was always good to have.

After taking the photos, Liam turned to his underlings. "What does Connor always tell you? Mind your own business."

With that, he led the group to Connor''s VIP room.

As soon as he walked in, Liam leaned in conspiratorially. "Connor, you will not believe what I just saw out there. It''s major gossip. You''re definitely going to be interested in this."

The others stared, dumbfounded. Just moments ago, Liam was telling them to mind their own business, and now he was the one spreading gossip.

Connor was still sulking over Leonie''s departure, but having his lively friends around was a wee distraction. "What could you possibly have seen?"
