fixed on hers. "Didn''t I already say? We''re friends. Eliza. There''s no need to

Eliza froze for a moment, then broke into a smile. "Alright, I get it?

Nn raised an eyebrow, his gaze still locked on her, as if unwilling to let it slide.

Eliza sighed in mock defeat. "Fine. I understand now."

It seemed even the way she referred to herself had changed.

Eliza suddenly noticed something as she thought about it.

Nn rarely referred to himself as Prince Nn when speaking to her. She

couldn''t quite pinpoint when the habit began.

However, she went along with it since Nn chose to act that way.

The night''s still young, and the Light Show is in full swing. Serenity, why not stay up with me and have a merry time together?" said Nn.

Nn and Eliza melted into the lively crowd of the Light Show, surrounded by glowing lights and the cheerful buzz of the festival. They wandered down the street, stopping to browse and shop wherever something caught their eye. Before long, Nn''s hands were full.

They bought the waternterns they picked out together, the snacks, and other things-one thing after another.

At first, Eliza carried a few things, but before long, Nn had taken everything off her hands. By the time they reached the halfway point of the street, his arms were practically overflowing

Eliza hesitated, feeling a little guilty about letting Nn carry everything. However, before she could act, someone from the crowd. stepped forward and took all the items from Nn''s hands.

"Take those back to the carriage and store them properly, said Nn.

    "Yes, sir

With his hands now free, Nn turned to Eliza with a smile and said, "Let''s keep going. There''s still so much to see. How about checking out the next street?"

    "Sure!" said Eliza.

At that point, Eliza feltpletely at ease, without hesitation or burden.

Nn and Eliza wandered through several streets. By the end, Eliza was starting to feel a bit worn out.

"It''s been ages since I''ve had a chance to just wander around like this," said Eliza, ughing.

Eliza''s mood was light and carefree tonight.

She had always been so tense, always on guard. When was thest time she''d felt this free?

"Did you have fun?" asked Nn, turning to look at her.

Eliza nodded firmly. "Yes, I did. I''m happy."

She truly meant it. She was genuinely happy.

She felt she hadn''t been that happy for a long time. Maybe it was not just in this life but in thest one, too,

    Then let''s

Nn''s words trailed off as he suddenly sensed something. His sharp gaze swept toward the nearby crowd, his expression turning sey.

    "What''s the matter?" asked Eliza

Eliza noticed his unusual behavior and followed his gaze, but couldn''t see anything unusual.

Nn shook his head lightly "It''s nothing. Do you want to keep looking around?"

    1:26 PM

Eliza nced at her feet and decided not to push herself. "No. I

Let''s head to the river and release the waternterns. It''s gettingte."

After releasing the wishingnterns, it would be time to head back.

    "Alright." Nn nodded obediently.

Nn walked beside her. They strolled toward the river.

As they passed through a dense crowd, Nn fell half a step behind Eliza. From

within his sleeve, a dagger slid into his hand. With a swift, silent motion, he plunged it into the side of an unassuming man who had been about to lunge forward.

The de sank in with a muted sound, barely audible amidst the bustling crowd.

Nn''s movements were precise and controlled, and the dagger instantly pierced the man''s flesh. All the sounds were absorbed by the crowd, ensuring Eliza remainedpletely unaware. By the time he brushed past the man, a shadowy figure had stepped in to quietly remove the lifeless body, leaving no trace behind.

Nn''s eyes darkened with irritation. He thought, "Couldn''t Eliza and I even enjoy a peaceful evening without trouble finding us again and again?"

The first assassin fell silently. Nn''s sharp gaze swept through the crowd, quickly identifying several more targets.

He gestured subtly behind him, and his men swiftly moved forward past them.
