After copsing the previous morning, Jessica''s physical condition had taken a sharp decline. The bouts of pain were bing more frequent and intense.
Vince had already chartered a private jet the night before. Under the care of a medical team assembled by Herbert, Jessica was flown out of the country. They hadn''t dared to tell her parents or grandfather yet, fearing the shock would be too much for them. Vince stayed behind. With Herbert by her side, he had nothing to worry about. His job was to remain in the city and manage Timothy.
On the ne, Jessica was in constant pain, drifting in and out of consciousness. In her delirious state, she murmured a stream of names: her mother, her father, her grandmother, Henry, Timothy. And Herbert.
Herbert held her hand tightly, his own eyes red with unshed tears as he watched her suffer. She was such a kind person. Why did she have to endure this agony? Why this disease? But then again, he knew illnesses like this were often linked to prolonged emotional distress. Even after all the misery she had endured in her marriage, she still thought of Timothy and their son.
Uponnding, Herbert took Jessica directly to a state-of-the-artboratory. The facility, staffed by leading medical experts from various fields, was in a highly secure and confidential location, making it nearly impossible for Timothy to find her. This was the n they had agreed upon. Vince didn''t want Timothy to interfere with Jessica''s life any longer, and Jessica felt the same. The only problem was that they still hadn''t found a suitable liver donor.
Herbert prayed he would be a match. That way, they could schedule her surgery immediately.
Once Jessica was settled, Herbert called Vince. "We''ve arrived."
"How is she?"
"Not good... We need to find a donor as soon as possible. But don''t worry, I will find a way to save her." It pained Herbert more to see Jessica in agony than if he were sick himself.
"I''m going to trick my parents into getting a ''check-up'' at YS Private Hospital. I''ll have you arrange for a doctor there to draw samples for tissue typing. Have them rush it."
"Okay, I''ll contact them now."
Vince decided to wait for the results before telling his parents the full truth about Jessica''s condition. If neither was a match, he would keep it from them for a while longer.
Zachary and his wife were at the hospital visiting Larkin, as they did every day Vince went to pick them up, using the excuse that YS Private Hospital had top-of-the-line

After the check-up, on the drive home, Vinceid the groundwork for his n. "Things with Timothy have been a mess," he began. "He refuses to let Jessica go, and he wouldn''t even show up to sign the final papers. I saw thising, se had. se!! an identity card made forher as
Salome a while ago. I pulled some strings, created a fake medical history of cancer, and arranged for a death certificate. So, if you hear from Timothy that Jessica has passed away, don''t be rmed."
Zachary and his wife understood immediately.
"That''s for the best," Mrs.

Zimmerman said. "She is Salome. We don''t need the ''Jessica'' identity anymore. It''s good to have it resolved. If Timothy won''t divorce her fine. As Salome, she has no connection to him. What should we tell Yates?"
"For now, we''ll all act as if Jessica is gone. If Yates asks, we tell him the same thing."
"You have your sister well hidden?" Zachary asked.
"Yes."
