?Chapter 1478:
“So, what’s the right move then?” Jessica asked, resting her chin in her hand.
“Let him go and start over. Surround yourself with people who actually deserve you,” Melvin said, steady as ever.
A softugh escaped Jessica’s lips. He really was something else.
Just then, her phone buzzed on the console. She nced at the screen. It was from N.
“I have those videos of you from back then,” the message read.
“See,” Jessica replied without batting an eye.
Another message popped up quickly. “Should I send them to your boyfriend?”
Jessica’s face stayed calm as she typed, “Go ahead. And after that, I’ll head to the police and report you for distributing explicit material. Let’s see whoughs then.”
N stared at her phone in stunned silence. She hadn’t expected that.
After a beat, she startedughing softly, then typed again. “What, afraid your boyfriend’s going to find out?”
Jessica looked at Melvin beside her. It wasn’t fear. She just didn’t want to burden him with unnecessary drama.
“Maybe I’ll arrange to meet your boyfriend in person and show him,” N teased, adding a little flourish to her typing.
“That would be helpful, actually. He’s clueless about these things,” Jessica replied with a smirk. “Be sure to exin it clearly for him. Use diagrams if you have to.”
N didn’t reply right away. For once, she was actually impressed. Most people would have panicked.
Finally, she sent onest message, “Rx, I don’t actually have those videos.”
Jessica already knew she was bluffing. “I figured as much.”
N nced at her two drunk friends nearby and hesitated, then added, “Still, you should tell him everything before you get married. It’s better that way.” For all her sharp words, she didn’t fully trust love. She had seen too many rtionships fall apart because of secrets.
There was something about Jessica she couldn’t quite let go of. They were enemies, sure, but it was fun sparring with someone sharp for once.
Jessica paused for a second before replying with somethingpletely unrted. “Cut back on the alcohol. You’re better than this. Those guys you keep dating don’t define you.”<fn6a70> Th? link to the orig?n of this information r?sts ?n find?novel</fn6a70>

The wordsnded harder than expected. N froze, staring at the message. A lump formed in her throat.
With a sharp exhale, she lowered her voice, hit call, and pressed the phone to her ear. When Jessica answered, N said quietly, “You’re seriously annoying, you know that.”
“Likewise,” Jessica shot back. Her tone was mild, but not warm. “I don’t like you either.”
“What?” N asked.
“You’re a pain.”
“Right back at you.”
There was a pause. Then, almost reluctantly, N muttered, “But right now, I don’t hate you as much as I should.” The sudden shift caught Jessica off guard.
