?Chapter 1430:
As Jacob opened the door, Jessica turned toward the sound, ready to greet her uncle. Then she spotted the striking Lawrence behind him. “The person you were… tangled up with on the couch… is a guy?”
She had heard whispers about Jacob’s romantic life but never took them seriously. Her uncle was a handsome man who was charming to everyone, so rumors seemed natural.
But now, she saw it with her own eyes.
“Let me grab your bag,” Jacob said, cutting through her thoughts.
“No need, I’ll crash at a hotel,” Jessica replied, pulling her suitcase back. She stepped away. “You two enjoy your time together.”
She hade here thinking Jacob lived alone, like always. Turned out she was wrong.
Lawrence blinked. “What?”<fna221> This content belongs to Find★Novel</fna221>
Who was this girl?
Jacob stepped out, took her suitcase, and pulled it inside. “He’s nobody. Ignore him.”
“Nobody?” Lawrence huffed, offended.
Jacob shot him a look.
The message was clear: you’re the nobody I’m talking about.
Lawrence mped his mouth shut.
He was fuming inside. But what could he do?
“Uncle Jacob,” Jessica teased as she stepped inside, her curiosity bubbling. “Is this my future uncle-inw?”
Lawrence froze, then nced between them. “You’re his niece?”
Jessica nodded. “Yup.”
“You two could pass for siblings,” Lawrence said, grabbing her bag like he was already part of the family. “Come in, sit down. What do you want to drink? As your future uncle-inw, I’ve got you covered.”
Jacob stared at him as if questioning his sanity.

“Water’s fine,” Jessica said, already wishing she’d stayed away. Not for any big reason, she just didn’t want to cramp their style.
“Coming right up,” Lawrence said, setting her bag down and heading off.
“Stop ying house,” Jacob called, moving her suitcase to the guest room. He grabbed some snacks. “He’s not with me. Pretend he’s a ghost.”
“How can you tell my niece-inw to act like I’m not here?” Lawrence returned, holding a ss of water.
Jessica coughed softly, hiding a smile. Her mood started to brighten.
“Don’t buy into his nonsense,” Lawrence said, setting the water down. He leaned in, whispering like they were sharing a secret. “He’s just shy. He won’t admit we’re a thing.”
“I get it,” Jessica said, her smile sweet and yful.
Lawrence instantly took a liking to her.
Jacob groaned inwardly, sensing trouble brewing between these two. “Keep up with his nonsense, and I’ll chuck your suitcase out the door.”
