Chapter 1400

    ?Chapter 1400:

Melvin’s emotional state was in as day to Jack. There was no second-guessing it.

Jessica wasn’t so sure. “And if he still hesitates?”

“Then it can only mean one of two things,” Jack said with a shrug.

    “What things?” Jessica asked.

“Either he’s impotent,” Jack said with a smirk, “or he’s got some terminal illness.”

Jessica gaped. That was ridiculous. If Melvin were dying, Freya would’ve told her.

“Stop overthinking. Just trust me,” Jack said, spinning his phone around his fingers, the smirk never leaving his face. “I didn’tnd all those girlfriends for nothing.”

“You know, not a single one of your girlfriends actually loves you,” Jessica said tly, her words sharp and unapologetically direct.

Jack’s face darkened, caught off guard by the bluntness. He scrambled for a defense. “You want me to call them right now, put them on speaker, and ask if they love me?” he snapped, his pride stung.

“If they truly cared about you, they wouldn’t be okay watching you date a whole lineup,” Jessica said coldly, ying it all out.

“That’s just my maic pull,” Jack replied with a smirk, trying to reim his swagger.

“No, that’s your bank bnce working its charm,” Jessica shot back, not giving him an inch.

Jack stared at her in frustration. Cornered, heshed out. “Do you want my help or not?”

“You don’t have much time left to waste,” Jessica replied, her voice gentler now, almost reflective. “You might as well quit running after girls and learn how to manage your business for once.”

“And what makes you think I need life advice from you?” Jack scoffed, puffing his chest up again.

Jessica simply let out a quiet sigh. She wasn’t about to waste her energy arguing. Let him crash and burn if he wanted to. It wasn’t herpany at stake.

“By the way, there’s something I should warn you about in advance,” Jack said suddenly, as if something had just urred to him.

Jessica leanedzily against the desk. “What is it?”

“Don’t go near my parents unless absolutely necessary,” Jack said, visibly annoyed. “Every time they see you, I end up getting chewed out the moment I walk in the house.”

Whenever his parentsid eyes on Jessica, it always ended the same way. They’dunch into endlessparisons—Jessica’s perfect grades, her sharp business sense, her polished presence.

Meanwhile, he was the screw-up son who partied too much.

Jessica gave a little shrug, pletely unfazed. “Depends on my mood.”

“What?” Jack snapped, clearly agitated. “Do you know how many lectures I sit through just because they talked to you for five minutes? You think that’s fun?”

“Sorry, I’ve always been exceptional,” Jessica said with genuine sincerity.
