Chapter 1398

    ?Chapter 1398:

    But Melvin hadn’t budged.

“Guys know guys. If he wasn’t into you, he wouldn’t have shown up to see me,” Jack said, still lounging with his usual air of nonchnce. “It’s obvious he cares about you. He just won’t admit it.”

Jessica narrowed her eyes slightly. “You have a n?”

“Obviously,” Jack replied with a cocky grin.

When it came to matters of the heart, men could sniff out another man’s weaknesses like blood in the water.

From the way Melvin had reacted earlier, Jack had already formted a strategy.

“Tell me everything that’s happened between you two, and I’ll help you reel him in,” Jack offered. “But once it’s done, you have to convince Melvin to fix the mess at mypany.”

He believed anyone who could pinpoint the ws in his startup so effortlessly had to be something special. Even his own father had no clue about his financial issues.

Jessica didn’t jump at the offer. Her guard was up. “What kind of mess?”

“Rx. It’s nothing shady,” Jack assured her. He knew Jessica too well. If she hadn’t been so fiery, he might have tried to win her over himself. “The startup tanked. I just haven’t told my dad.”

His future in the family depended entirely on the sess of this business. Two out of his three years had already slipped by. He’d been ready to throw in the towel—until Melvin walked into the picture.

So why not scratch each other’s backs?

“Let me look at the numbers first,” Jessica said coolly. “Then I’ll decide.”

Jack frowned. “You don’t trust me?”

“Not one bit,” Jessica replied without blinking.

Jack stared at her in silence. He knew he needed her help more than his pride.

He led her out of the nightclub and drove her straight to his office. What they didn’t know was that Melvin had been parked nearby the whole time, watching them from a distance.

Half an hourter, Jessica hadbed through the data Jack hadid out. After going over everything, she nced up and asked, “Are you absolutely sure this is the only issue?”

    “Positive.” Jack nodded without hesitation.

“Alright,” Jessica said. She could manage it on her own without bothering Melvin. But truth be told, Jack probably wasn’t cut out for running a business.

“Are you really sure you can help me win him over?” Jessica asked, still uncertain.

“He’s emotionally clueless, but I’m telling you, he likes you,” Jack replied confidently. “If you go with my n, you’ll have him wrapped around your finger in two weeks.”

Jessica grabbed a pen and notepad from his desk. “Write it down. This stays between us. If you b, it’s over.”

“Do I look like that kind of guy?” Jack said, feigning offense.

“Yes,” Jessica shot back.<fn3be7> Chapters first released on find(?)ovel</fn3be7>
