Chapter 1375

    ?Chapter 1375:

Before she could even process it, she was swept into a familiar, cool embrace. Melvin looked down at her startled face, his voiceced with a subtle edge of concern.

“Are you alright? Did they hurt you?”

“What are you doing here?” Jessica asked, stunned. Wasn’t he supposed to be at work at this hour?

Melvin pressed his lips together, saying nothing. He couldn’t exactly admit he’d been secretly watching over hertely. He’d almost stepped in back at the restaurant—until he saw her leave with her friend.

“Damn it!” the man cursed, scrambling to his feet and swinging his club. “Who the hell are you?!”

“Go to the ck car on the left—the one with the te ending in 668.” Melvin handed her the keys and whispered low, “Lock the doors once you’re inside. Don’t get out.”

Jessica hesitated. Was he really nning to fight?

Melvin noticed she hadn’t moved and gently urged, “Go.”<fn3c52> Newest update provided by FιndNovel</fn3c52>

“Hiding in a car won’t help…” Jessica bit her lip, uncertain. “They can smash the windows.”

“They won’t. I had them reinforced,” Melvin said calmly.

Back when he drove Freya around, every car he handled had been upgraded with bulletproof ss. They were nearly impossible to breach.

Jessica didn’t want this to escte—she didn’t want to see Melvin hurt. There were too many of them, and Melvin was all alone…

“I’m talking to you! What’s your damn problem?” Jack’s goon snapped, now visibly seething.

Melvin stepped in front of Jessica protectively, nudging her toward the car. He slipped off his suit jacket, then rolled up his sleeves, undoing the cuffs and cor. “I don’t like fighting,” he said tly, “but you tried to hurt her. So now you answer for it.”

“Who does this guy think he is? Get him!” the goon hollered without hesitation. He didn’t believe for a second that one guy could stand against so many.

Jessica climbed into the car quickly, locked the doors, and immediately pulled out her phone to call Jack.

In a moment like this, Jack was her best shot. She told him everything—clear, concise, and to the point.

The moment Jack heard it, he panicked. Even if he wasn’t directly involved, if something really happened to her, his old man would have his head.

Meanwhile, Melvin was already deep into the fight.

The group might have looked big and mean, but they were nothing special—Melvin dropped them one after another without breaking a sweat.

“You… you…” the goon stammered, staring at his groaning crew sprawled across the ground. He swallowed hard. “What do you want?”

Melvin didn’t answer. He just kept walking toward him, step by steady step. His sharp, striking features had gonepletely cold.

“I’m warning you, ying hands on me is illegal! You touch me, I’ll call the cops and have you arrested!” The man was visibly trembling—he hadn’t anticipated Melvin being this damn intimidating.
