?Chapter 1350:
“Thanks for tutoring me back then,” Melvin replied with sincerity, his tone as solemn as ever.
Jessica blinked, her fists clenching in frustration. For a second, she believed he was the most aggravating man alive.
“If it weren’t for your help, I probably wouldn’t have gotten into Alerith University, ornded the job I have now.” Melvin spoke as if he were paying respects to some noble mentor. “I really appreciate it.”
Jessica let out a silent groan. Back then, she had always been at the top of the ss. Melvin hadn’tgged far behind—he was still among the best. He would have made it to Alerith University just fine without her help.
But if he insisted, she would take the credit.
“You really mean it?” she asked, raising an eyebrow.
Melvin nodded.
Her eyes sparkled with mischief. Without thinking, she said, “Then help me find a job.”
“A job?” he repeated, visibly confused.
“Yeah. My job is awful. I’m done with it,” Jessica said, sounding exhausted. “Overtime every day, no rest, and the sry is a joke.”
At that exact moment, far away in Alerith, the CEO of Prescott Group suddenly felt as if someone were speaking ill of him behind his back.
Jessica sighed, looking truly worn out. “Even after work hours, my boss wouldn’t let up—constantly pestering me.”
“You quit?” Melvin asked, his brows pulling together.
“Not yet,” Jessica muttered with a pout. “Haven’t found anything better yet.”
Melvin was already deep in thought. In his memory, she had a master’s degree, and she was smart andpetent. Hiring her into Anita International Group wouldn’t be outrageous. Still, would that count as nepotism? It was Freya’spany, after all.
“If there’s nothing open for me, that’s fine.” Jessica could practically read his thoughts. Her big eyes rolled slightly. “I’ll just stick with that hellhole. Maybe I’ll die from overwork.”
“You’re in Jeucwell?”

“Come by Anita International Group on Monday,” Melvin said, his tone back to business. “The benefits are solid. You’ve got the skills. Shouldn’t be a problem.”
“Really?” Jessica’s eyes lit up instantly.
Melvin gave a brief nod.
Jessica beamed, her smile curling like crescent moons. “Thanks. I’ll treat you to dinner once we’re back in Alerith.”
“No need,” Melvin replied coolly, turning her down without a second thought. “You helped me back then. This just evens things out.”
Jessica didn’t argue. There would be plenty of time to work on him once they were back in Alerith. Gerard had already confirmed that Melvin didn’t have feelings for Freya, so she was more than willing to y the long game.
“How about we head back together tomorrow?” she suggested, her eyes gleaming like stars.
