Chapter 1266

    ?Chapter 1266:

“Mommy, I’m nning to stay at Kevin Wilson’s ce for a while,” Jerome said after a pause. He chose not to mention that Jasper would be going too. “Did you get the money he transferred to you?”

Donna looked utterly confused. “That was from Kevin?”

    “Yeah.”

“He sent it so you’d go live with him?”

    “Yes.”

Donna shook her head. “I’ll send it back.” She still thought it was some kind of scam. She hadn’t even responded to the message.

“Don’t worry,” Jesse spoke up calmly. “Jerome’s just staying with him for a while—whether it’s a day, a week, or longer, it’s up to you.”

He handed her a document. “You can pen down your conditions here.”

Donna took the agreement and flipped through it.

A few pages in, her eyesnded on the custody use. Her expression darkened.

“I’m not giving him custody,” she said firmly.

“I’ll have him redraft the agreement,” Jesse replied without missing a beat. “That use has to be removed.”

Donna looked from the paper to Jesse, visibly overwhelmed. Wasn’t he only four years old?

“You should ept the money he sent,” Jesse added. “As their father, he’s legally required to pay child support. It’ll help ease the burden of raising Jerome and Jasper.”

It was all true—and by the book.

Still, Donna hesitated. She didn’t want anything from Kevin.

Both Nina and Jerome also did their best to convince her.

Despite being kids, they spoke clearly and logically, each point more convincing than thest.

Meanwhile, Jesse picked up the agreement again and quietly headed downstairs.

Kevin was waiting in his car. The moment he saw Jesse approaching with a document in hand, he got out. His eyesnded on the paper. “Is it signed?” he asked, cool as ever.

    “No,” Jesse replied tly.

Kevin’s face shifted. “What do you mean?”

“There’s a problem with your contract,” Jesse said evenly. “We talked about Jerome and Jasper staying with you. Not handing over custody.”

Kevin stiffened, then narrowed his eyes. “Are you ying games with me, kid?”

“No,” Jesse said without flinching. “You broke the agreement. You got greedy.”

Donna had raised those kids on her own. For years. It was only fair that Kevin pitched in.

“I don’t have time to go back and forth with you,” Kevin snapped, irritation returning to his voice. “Keep testing me, and Donna won’t see another dime.”

Jesse frowned slightly. Hadn’t she already received one payment?
