?Chapter 1265:
“Yes.” Jesse didn’t even blink.
Kevin nced at Jerome, then called in his assistant to start drawing up the new agreement.
As they talked business, Jerome’s face darkened. “Wait—when did I agree to go with him?”
Jesse turned to him with a look of disbelief. “You want to help your mom or not?”
Jerome blinked, confused. “What does that have to do with anything?”<fn8ef6> Newest update provided by Find~Novel</fn8ef6>
“It’s just staying at his ce for a bit,” Jesse said, his mind racing with ideas beyond his years. “He’s not getting custody or anything. It’s just temporary. And for that, your mom gets four hundred million. Isn’t that worth it?”
Nina nodded, backing him up. “Exactly.”
Jerome looked at them both like they’d grown extra heads. “Is this… how things work now?”
“Why not?” Jesse said with a shrug. “Once the agreement’s ready, just hold onto it. Nothing’s set in stone yet.”
Jerome still looked skeptical but said nothing.
A few minutester, Kevin came back with the signed agreement and ced it on the table.
He looked at Jesse. “Take a look. Let me know if anything’s missing.”
“It’s not up to me,” Jesse said seriously. “His mom needs to review it.” His expression didn’t change, eyes steady and confident. “And if you really want to show good faith, you should transfer the four hundred million to her ount now. Mark it as a gift.”
Kevin’s brow twitched. He clearly hadn’t expected that.
Jesse was just a kid. How did a four-year-old even know to say something like that?
“If I transfer it now and she refuses to send them to me, won’t I just be throwing money away?” he asked.
“She’ll agree,” Jerome said suddenly, finally getting what Jesse was doing. “Once you make the transfer, I’ll talk to her myself. I’ll go.”
Kevin hesitated, weighing his options.
“She won’t agree,” he said after a moment.
“I’ll make sure she does,” Jerome said, his voice steady now. He was all in.
From all indications, Kevin wasn’t the impulsive type.
But at the end of the day, he was dealing with kids—and he trusted that Jerome wouldn’t lie to him. So, without arguing further, he transferred two hundred million to Donna’s ount and marked it as a gift.
He didn’t send the full amount yet, because he hadn’t spoken to Jasper. “It’s done,” Kevin said, showing them his phone screen. “Now, can we go talk to your mom?”
“She’s still at work,” Jerome said. “She’ll be home around six. I’ll take the agreement and talk to her myself.” He paused. “Alone. You wait outside.”
Kevin agreed to the n.
By six in the evening, Jesse, Nina, and Jerome returned to Jerome’s home together.
Donna was a little surprised to see all three kids at once. She weed them warmly.
