Chapter 1259

    ?Chapter 1259:

Donna let out a sigh of relief and looked at n gratefully. “Thank you—for everything. If it weren’t for you, Kevin might’ve taken Jerome and Jasper away today.”

n waved it off. “I meant what I said earlier. If he threatens anyone—your friends, your family—send them to apply at the Briggs Group.”

He wasn’t just being polite. He genuinely respected her. Raising two kids on her own wasn’t easy, and she’d done it with grace.<fn36fd> Checktest chapters at find?novel</fn36fd>

Donna hesitated, then nodded. “Alright. I will. Thanks again.”

n reached into his pocket and handed her a card. “Here. If he shows up again, or if things end up going to court, call me.”

Donna took the card. “Thank you,” she said, her voice barely above a whisper. She didn’t intend to bother him—not unless she had no other choice.

n checked the time and gave a small nod. “Alright, it’s gettingte. If you need anything, reach out. We’ll head out now.”

“Why don’t you stay for dinner?” Donna offered gently.

n smiled but shook his head. “Better not. Kevin’s probably still lurking downstairs. If I hang around too long, he’ll start spinning his own stories.” They were part of the same social circle, after all. He didn’t want any rumors about him getting out.

Donna understood and didn’t insist further.

As the trio were leaving, Nina turned and waved happily at Jerome, promising to see him again soon.

Back in the elevator, n nced down at her, a little surprised to see her still smiling. “Didn’t you seem all upset about leaving Jerome earlier?” he asked. “Why are you suddenly so cheerful?”

“Because we helped him,” Nina said brightly, her eyes sparkling. Just knowing Jerome was okay made her happy.

n smiled and gave her hair a light ruffle. “Then you should stay in touch with him, you know. Otherwise, you might lose contact one day.”

“Why would that happen?” Nina asked, puzzled.

“Because that man might take him back to his own home someday,” n said quietly. “If that happens, you two might not get to see each other again.” He’d left his card and said what needed to be said, but deep down, he knew Donna probably wouldn’t call. She didn’t seem like the kind to ask for help, even when she needed it.

“I’ll call him every day,” Nina said seriously.

Jesse nced over. “You even have his number?”

“Of course I do!” she said proudly.

n and Jesse exchanged a look. When had Nina asked Jerome for his number? They had been together all the time and hadn’t noticed anything.

    They definitely hadn’t seen thising.

“When did you get his number?” n asked, genuinely confused. “I don’t remember seeing that happen.”

“I used this,” Nina said softly, pointing to her smartwatch. “I told him to let me know if he ever needs help.”
