    Kristian replied, “I really believe it.”


    Felipe studied him for a moment, then finally let out a breath. Speaking honestly, based on everything he’de to understand from being around Freya these past few months, he said, “Yeah, I think she’s better off with Ellis than with you.”


    Kristian asked evenly, “Why?”


    “You’re both too stubborn; confrontations are inevitable,” Felipe replied. He hadn’t spent much time around Ellis, but it wasn’t hard to see how well he suited Freya. There was no particr reason, but the way she’d changed since being with Ellis said it all.


    “Don’t go jumping into marriage again,” Felipe warned, his tone sincere. “You only figure out if it’ll work once you’ve lived with someone.”


    Kristian didn’t say a word, though something flickered in his gaze.


    “You’re not nning to stay single forever, are you?” Felipe asked again.


    “Not my current concern,” Kristian answered, clearly not ready to deal with it. The future could wait. But staying single forever wasn’t exactly realistic—eventually, the shareholders of Shaw Group would start breathing down his neck.


    “They won’t let you stall forever,” Felipe remarked. He might have been away from work for a while, but he still knew how thepany worked. “Word about Freya’s marriage will reach them soon.”


    Before, their marriage had been kept under wraps—few people knew. But after Freya’s recent public ordeal, Kristian had posted a video online, and the news had spread. Now Freya was remarried, and it was only a matter of time before Kristian would be forced to get married.


    Kristian said coolly, “I know how to handle them, and they won’t make a move anytime soon.” At least not within the next month, they wouldn’t dare.
