?Chapter 1192:
“So why did she answer you and not me?” Caldwell stared at Ellis, still confused, as he had messaged her before Ellis had.
“I’m on her priority contacts list. My messages trigger a special alert, so she always notices them.” Ellis smirked, clearly enjoying rubbing it in.
Caldwell was left at a loss for words. Ellis read through Freya’s reply and mentioned it to her.
Freya opened her messages, scrolling until Caldwell’s text popped up. She noticed that Ellis’s message was pinned to the top, followed by various notifications, which pushed Caldwell’s message further down her list.
Ellis asked, “What did my dad want?”
Freya had been about to ask why Caldwell wanted her help with a proposal when a second message from him appeared: “Don’t tell Ellis.”
Freya hesitated before replying, “Is this for yourself, or are you helping someone else?”
Caldwell replied, “I want to propose to Kendra again. I wasn’t very romantic the first time—I only had a bouquet. She seemed a little envious of what you did for Ellis today.”
That answer caught Freya off guard.
Caldwell followed up, “Would you help me?”
Freya replied, “Of course I can help. But since you two have been together for years, wouldn’t it be nicer to tie the proposal to an anniversary celebration?” If Caldwell and Kendra were getting remarried, proposing again wouldn’t seem unusual at all. However, proposing after three decades together could feel odd.
Caldwell paused, thinking it over. She had a point. An anniversary seemed like a much more fitting asion. Kendra was really just after that sweet, memorable moment. The specific day didn’t matter.
Caldwell responded, “Let me consider which date would make sense.”
Freya suggested, “You could do it on your wedding anniversary, her birthday, or Valentine’s Day—any date that feels right.”
Caldwell mulled over her suggestion. Their thirtieth wedding anniversary had already passed, and her birthday was a long way off. None of the usual asions seemed quite right.

After talking it through, theynded on celebrating the anniversary of the proposal.
Once they wrapped up their chat, Caldwell didn’t keep Freya any longer. Ellis headed upstairs and called out to her, his voice carrying through the house, “So, what did my dad want?”
“Nothing important.”
“You’re really not going to tell me?”
“He told me to keep it a secret from you,” Freya answered honestly.
“Let me guess—he’s nning something for my mom and wants your help.” Ellis wasted no time guessing. “He probably needs your drones, too, right?”
Freya stared at him, almost in disbelief. She hadn’t said a word, yet he had figured it out perfectly.
