?Chapter 1191:
“That’s a choice we made together,” Ellis continued.
“Why would you skip a grand wedding?” Drawing from her own experiences, Kendra guessed her son was simply trying to avoid the hassle. “It’s not as if you have any unusual circumstances. Are you trying to convince Freya to skip the wedding just because you think the whole process is too much work?”
Ellis said, “Do I really seem like that type of guy to you?”
Kendra fell quiet for a moment. She knew he wasn’t, but still, she couldn’t understand it.
“Every girl dreams of a grand wedding. You’ll end up regretting it if you decide against it.” Kendra hoped to change their minds. “Besides, Freya’s dad is famous in the business world. If you don’t hold a grand wedding, people will definitely talk.”
Ellis replied, “That won’t be a problem.”
Neither Kendra nor Caldwell looked satisfied, but neither found the right words to protest.
Ellis added, “She’s notfortable with crowds.”
Atst, Kendra and Caldwell gave up arguing. They simply advised the couple to consider all their options carefully, leaving the decision in their hands. Later, after dinner with his family, Ellis texted Freya to update her on the conversation.
“My parents asked about our wedding ns. I told them what we wanted.”
Freya replied shortly after, “My dad brought it up too. I told him how we felt.”
Ellis wanted to be certain. “Are you sure you don’t want a big wedding?”
Freya responded, “Yes, something simple is enough for me.”
Ellis assured her, “Whenever you change your mind, let me know. Even if we’re old and gray, I can give you the grandest wedding ever.”
Freya’s heart felt light and warm as she replied, “Alright.”
Caldwell caught sight of Ellis grinning at his phone and guessed the texts were for Freya. He nced down at his own phone, seeing no new messages. The empty screen made him feel a little upset.
With a pointed cough, he cleared his throat, hoping to catch Ellis’s attention. Ellis was too absorbed in texting to notice, assuming his father simply had a tickle in his throat. That only made Caldwell more irritated.

He cleared his throat again, louder this time.
Ellis finally nced up from his phone and tilted his head. “Is there something you need?”
“Who are you messaging? You seem so focused.”
“It’s Freya.”
Neither of them seemed to understand what the other was getting at.
Ellis arched an eyebrow and said offhandedly, “If you’re bored, Mom’s upstairs. She’s probably picking out something to wear.”
Caldwell shot back with a huff, “I don’t need your advice, thank you. I was just thinking that I messaged Freya earlier, and she hasn’t answered yet.”
“That’s prettymon. She’s not on her phone much.”
